  1. Just got back from trying a night cache. The coordinates took us to a trail head and from there you use a flashlight to try and follow a trail of small squares of reflector tape about 8 feet off the ground stapled to trees. They were few and far apart but bright reflectors. There are 2 logs of people trying this in the day and couldn't find it. We found it with no problems, it was a 20 minute hike to the cache.

I thought it was a very good ideal. What other ways are there to do night caches made just for night.

  2. I did some searching for multi caches and micros but I didn't find any close to that one. The owner might not have posted it yet. Keep an eye out.

As you can tell I was bored. The top green dot is where the cache is that you went to find. No other caches were close by including multi caches.

  3. Was it hidden or out in the open?

If it was hidden then it most likely will not be approved due to being way to close to another cache.

So no you can not log it till the owner moves it to a new location then after it is approved you may go find it again.

I would leave it there the owner will come back for it after he finds out it is to close to another. If that is what has happened.

  4. A team mate of mine had that same post on the bottom of his cache page the other day when it was approved; I’m sure it’s the same approver. We talked about it and liked the ideal that he would take the time to write that and for him to say "you have the ability to improve (or degrade) the quality of Geocaching in your area" is a way to make you think about the caches you own or soon will.

So people please make it a well thought out cache and not just one placed real quickly just to place it. And being close enough to maintain it is a plus, if someone posts they couldn't find it, and that it is possibly not there anymore, you will need to be able to go check on it.

Now that more caches are out there they can and are being pickier as to have better caches out ther, it's good for everyone and the sport itself.

  5. Man that is awesome, I thought I was doing good with eight! Sometimes virtuals take more time then regular caches.

Having fun and doing it the way you want is the best part about this game and that you are your own coach.

We don't have too many around my area so taking my time is best so I don't run out of caches.

  6. That is what I do, cause I have to have spell check! And it's not fun when after you type a long cache info and it is past 45 minutes then you click submit, then you find you have to retype it all. icon_mad.gif

I'm out there to enjoy myself and find new places. Sometimes the pleasure comes from the journey, sometimes from the find, sometimes from seeing a hawk or an icy waterfall, and, admittedly, sometimes from seeing how fast and how far I can push myself. It depends on the mood I'm in.

    RIGHT ON! icon_smile.gif

  8. Mopar with one more post you will have posted 1000 times, they should give you a gold TB for that! icon_wink.gif LOL

Some of it is due to spring fever! I can't wait till I can have my windows open and enjoy that outdoor life, but of course I will be in here on the computer most of it. icon_rolleyes.gif
