  1. Mandy as with anything collectable the value is down to whoever is looking for the item really so generally the price is driven by the collector/buyer. I have really slowed down on my collecting due to the rediculous prices people in Europe want to charge, also I am more selective on the design of the coin. There is a european supplier who is just starting a coin series on working dogs I am sure there is a collie in that series also if you are interested pm me. As for activated coins there is no problem with ownership transferring and the value of the coin will depend on the coin itself, some people just won't buy a coin that has been activated. Hope this helps! J
  2. I am having problems uploading the the artwork for the Scotland coin to this page so that you can see it.

  6. Ditto! I was also Geocoinfest Europa last year and met them their work is excellent
  7. Count me in for Scotland! I like the idea of the 12 sided coin by the way
  8. I think this is an insult to the many honest collecters I know. My interest in coins is not less then before, although I'm more selective. I'm also one of those people on eBay who is willing to bid a lot for a coin I really want to add to my collection. Just place a Delft Blue "Windmolen" or a "Gele Bussie" on eBay, and you'll see . But I also think there are a lot designs comming out, so much choise to pick from. My budget has it's limmits, so I can't buy all the coins I like. I'm happy I don't collect cars , they take a lot more money and space I agree with the above I am much more selective than I used to be when I first started collecting coins 4-5 years ago. A coin has really got to apeal to me to grab my interest. There are one or two so called collectors who frequently sell coins that have recently ended their run in production and sold out for 400-500% above what they bought them for. They intentionally buy multiple coins to do so, where I used to buy a second or third of a coin purely as a trade and have never sold a coin on the e place hence the reason for having a box of a hundred or so duplicate coin that I use as trades.
  9. Here is a link to an article written by an attendee at Geocoinfest Europa about a good deed I performed I hope you like it! Good Deed
  10. Hi Vanelle, I bought one of these loevely coins at Geocoinfest Europa can you tell me which site I activate this and 3 other coins of yours please? Thanks Brave Defender
  11. I have only received one drawing so far each entrant is allowed to draw one picture of Nessie and one picture of their impression of what they think a Haggis would look like (animal not the pudding). So potentially two chances of being selected as we will mix and match the designs.
  12. Not long before this competition closes not much interest at the moment!
  13. Just a reminder only 1 month until this competition closes get the kids busy and send in some artwork
  14. Fairyhoney I don't have an answer to that one this idea was suggested to me by another cacher who thought it would be a good idea to get the kids involved in fundraising for an event! I am not sure if you have checked the link to our website in the first post. Can I put yor mind at ease and assure you everything is above board and laid down in the rules on the competition page. I know you are not suggesting that this is the case with this competition. I am sincerely hoping that I get a good response from all the budding artists to make it a bit fun for the kids and get a design on a coin that someone may not necessarily have been in a position to fund themselves I wasn't implying anything here, I saw what you were doing - which is an EXCELLENT idea - and it struck me that there was once a project that involved getting kids involved.I was only curious about what happened to it and was hoping that others coming here might know. I am sorry that I used your posting to try and solve my curiosity. Oops, upon further looking, I see that DresselDragons answered GOOD LUCK on your endeavor. and again, sorry Fairyhoney I did recognise that you were not implying it was anything to do with this competition I just wanted a little clarity so that posts were not misread, no need for apologies, no harm done

  17. Yes, this coin is the only 'official Mega2' coin that we are planning on producing ..... and is only available to those who register as supporters Do you have any artwork to see what the coin will look like?
  18. Since the rapid decline of the natural stocks in the 1930's, hunting the wild Haggis has been strictly forbidden - only the Queen is allowed to 'chase' the Haggis, although she chooses not to exercise this right. Therefore all store bought Haggis is now sustainably farmed, although one day we hope to see a large scale reintroduction of this wonderful indigenous European marsupial back into its natural habitat of the Highlands of Scotland. The distinctive 'pouch' of the Haggis inspired the wearing of the Sporran as part of traditional Scottish national dress. 2009 is Homecoming year for Scotland and the 250th anniversary of Robert Burns' birth. See you there. ATB Mac Mac, You are correct in what you say, however as it is the year of the Homecoming I have been granted special license to obtain by humane means one brace of Greater Spotted Haggii.
