Let's see, you want advice on being a geocoin collector. I should say "Run!!!!!" Instead I will say welcome to the club. There are lots of ways to start collections, there is a pinned thread at top with a lot of geocoin dealers listed, as a group we have cointests sometimes where you can win some coins too. As far as what to do with them,,, some keep them all, some keep a few and send others out into the wild, and some release most if not all of their coins on missions. Basically it's up to you. Activation is the same way. However if you think you might want to trade a coin later, most, not all, collectors prefer to trade for unactivated coins. But coins can be adopted to someone later if need be and is agreed by both parties. This is a fun but sometimes expensive part of a great game. Enjoy it along with us. And again welcome.

Well Liz, or anyone, if you find one cheap, Justin reminds me everytime he goes through coins "I still don't have a red one" Prices are odd with these things. Some I thought would go for a lot went rather low and others I have seen jump by leaps that are still fairly easy to find. Only time shall see whats gonna happen.

I am going to get back to working on totals, as well as trying to figure out our answers. I was slightly amazed at how many a few of us have each. Glad to know we are not the only totally addicted people here. Altough ours ahas been put on hold for a while. Will have to get some trades going for some the awesome coins from the last few months. The order for these is into mint. Waiting to get shipping time quote from them. Will post estimated date when recieved. There are still about 15 sets showing in stock. This is fromt he over order I did when we placed order back on Monday. Estimated how many would be sold by Friday. To help with any questions about run sizes, this minting has a total of 600 coins. 60 sets that include the gold coin( not to be re-made). We opened enough other metals for everyone to get their favorites, after this first round is sold we will be keeping these as standard reg items. However we will not be keeping all metals. 2 will be retired and 2 shall remain as re-mint as needed. Thanks to all those that have ordered these. I wish it was that easy. It is a matter of have too, we are making this a full family thing and I have a great IT helper that does not charge us anything to sit up all night with me fixing this stuff. Well we sent out two emails this may have been, one was sent to several people and one persons name may have shown up for another. Two emails went to everyone and some look "odd" because system changed all password and it had to send new log-in links. But we have fixed most the major isses and we can all order pretty shiney things again without much fuss. Thanks for patience

I cannot say in most cases, but in this one I can say that the money raised by same person, from the same type of coin sent to said person, that was raised for Tank and I was recieved and was very important in being able to bring him home with us and being forced to send him to state nursing home. Proof enough for me. Keep it up guys it is a great cause for some people that really need it.

I had as put in an e-mail wanted one for Tank's mom who is havign a really hard time with everything here, as she cannot help out and feels burdened on us as well. She loves fairies, so I would have given the one I asked for to her and still missed out. To have my own would be excellant and will send along something to you both. Sounds good to me. The whole community helping each opther is what makes this group so special. Everyone bid high on this fantasic coin so the helpfulness can be spread.

We do most of our postage either at USPS site or though paypal and they both have the delivery confirmation as required(paypal) option (USPS) was paid and printed there we have never had one have issue being tracked. It does not show exact details but shows it was recieved, shows delivered. Hope we ave helped a little.

WOW, you don't realize just HOW much you 2 look like "identical" twins until you are posted right on top of each other I never noticed that either,,,, too funny,,, Ok back on topic. I may have to agree with DD on this, I don;t even want to know how much metal we are lugging around. Now that I have to carry it all, I guess I will find out soon enough.

Sadly, we have had the same issues in the US. When we started the Quilt coins we were asked about doing them locally or at least Us made. I tried to get quotes on doing them this way, and was either told that they could not or got stuff back with no colors and such. At that point the director of the Quilt Trail concil tried to make some contacts too check and got the same sort of answers. At one point we thought we had fold someone, but again same as with the other posts,,, these were going to be minted elsewhere and sold back to us. Roy(director) finally gave up too. And this man can get the our Senetors on the phone before lunch.

Again, I don't list most of our auctions here but this one is kinda special to us. Most know that we do a special(normally) Trade version of Tanks dragons. Well the last one the Black Dragons were made to trade at a big event that we were unable to attend and with everything here i decided to post one for auction. I may post one more. I would not sell anothers trade only knowing it was meant that way. But with it being ours, I figured that would be enough permission. I would love to have one of these in any form. The auctions done for us have been a huge help , and wish I could help with this great cause. Sadlly things here are not very stable in the funds area. Maybe trade a Dragon for a fairy. e-mail sent Come on everyone help a great program!!!!

As a buyer, on hold at the moment , I don't care how the coin is sold if I really want it I will take it. Most likely prefer pre-sales, since I have also had an issue come up where I could not get the invoice taken care of quick enough for a vender and it was a coin I really really wanted and wished I had been able to pay for when I saw them. As a seller, we mostly do pre-sales. I don't normally do them off art only. I like to have samples in hand first. We really have only had one coin set with major delays and those were partly mint plating issues that we changed after first sample and partly life getting a lot mixed up. I have redone a few dies that were not quite right the first time and was glad that we held orders till got them right. I can send newsletter to site customers and then a post to forums with opening on sales give it a week or two then place an order. We always order a number of coins over for stock coins but those don't normally last too long. The debate between LE and having coins for everyone that wants them,,, We have always made a version/s that are limited by either number or pre-sale. Then also made a RE that we will reorder if there is still a long term demad for them. Again, like anything about this game, as many people playing is how many different ways to do it there are...

Lots of great places, but if really looking for selection, then yes ebay is going to give you the most options. Just make sure you ask any questions before the auctions close. Most folks are great but you just need to watch out for yourself. Check if it does not state if it is new and unactivated. You can also search to see how much the same coin has gone for before. Some are listed Hard to Find tht are still for sell at regular sites. Most important thing is have fun and welcome. I should say run, but hey can't leave the shiney things alone myself

As far as the numbers on the side. I only have a few I have seen like that and I even find them hard to read most times. Sometimes maybe bigger is better. Heard back from Sue!!! An upside to this poll for us is,,, now I have to get all these coins organized. They are kinda everywhere around here. Which puts me in the I'm counting spot too. Will get back with our numbers. Thanks for so many replys so far. I know we have more then 40 or so people around here. Speak up!!!

We understand how hard the smaller numbers are. Neither of us are in the 50+ range ,,,yet,, but with both having Diabetes our eyesight has regressed. One thing we have done with the coins we make is put white numbers on black coins, and black numbers on the nickel gold and copper ones. The first thing we mentioned about the numbers also was make sure we can read them. Glad others are seeing this and hopefully will help in the trend to super size in the future.
