  1. I use mine in off road but I can be walking down a straight trail and the compass swings back and forth. The needle stays on the same bearing/heading. I end up taking a real compass with me to keep me hiking through the woods in the right direction. I only use the 60csx to watch the distance come down. Thats the only thing I am unhappy with on the 60csx
  2. Rich, I have the Geocache navigator on my Sprint phone. I love it. It works great any time I have reception. The only problem I have is when the battery dies or I forget to pay my phone bill. I love to pull up the topo map when I'm out in the woods searching. Sometimes if my GPSr doesnt lock on I use my phone as a back up. A few times I have been traveking without my GPSr and used to phone to get the cache. it's great to pull up the hint and past logs with current info. Bumper
  3. I have a 120. Mine has locked up on several occasions. I had entered all my waypoints manually since I just recently got a cord adapter. I rarely use the radio so I will probably get a 60 cx when I upgrade. I have used my 120 in Europe and Australia, NZ and Hawaii and it always worked great for Hiking. I had a cigarete lighter and used it for finding my way back to hotels after traveling the countryside. I works great; I'm just getting older and don't like wearing reading glasses while gxing. Gonna get a little bigger screen now.
  4. I am a cop and I just found out about geocaching about a week ago. It is not suprising that people call the police when they see people get out of a car parked on the side of a road and walk away from it. (Dumping a stolen car??) You would be suprised at the things we get called for. Take kids or a spouse with you especially if a cache is hidden near a kids park or playground, or someone might think you are a pedophile and call the cops on you. If you are questioned just explain what you are doing and why you are being stealthy avoiding muggles. We are mainly looking to see how you respond to questions. If you are straightforward; nothing will seems suspicious. For an outsider you have to admit looking for a waterproof container under some bushes looks a bit strange. If possible show the officer a print out of a cache. We would rather spend our time finding real bad guys, but we still have to check out all calls. Until they start tattooing "Criminal" on the badguys foreheads; we still won't know who we are dealing with until we talk to a person. Bad guys don't wear uniforms like we do. Meanwhile, Keep on Caching.......... Bumper McV
