I've never felt the need to get amazing boots. I'll wear my heavy pair if i know ill be out for more than an hour or two. There is nothing special about them. I think i bought them from wartmart or something back in the day. they do they job, keep my feet warm and comfortable. i think they were pretty cheap 20-30$. I dont suggest spending much more than this unless you certain you will need them.

UGHH! We are shoveling out from under 16" of snow in Milwaukee. Cache In Snow Out indeed...
yup, I'm in Milwaukee too. All the snow can put a damper on the game, but what makes it worse is the cold...

cool. im going for local caches to, for heavens sake i have around 4 on my street.
Having a GPSr is fun but if you know the basic area it's hidden in, you could go snooping around for one and possibly get lucky. I know its not as fun with out the tool, but at least you can have a log.
good luck!

I don't understand why people would feel the need to cheat in a game they are basically playing with themselves, for the most part. Logging false finds seems so pointless and at the end of the day does it really matter if they found or not? well, it might make them feel better for some strange reason, but it just adds confusion for seekers/hiders, especially if the cache was muggled or something. I'm really surprised by the nerve of some people.
