Last week to get your kiddos in this one! (Can you tell I am trying to keep this mission near the top? Is that wrong?)

Thats correct! Your children would get a name and address to send a coin and letter to. The letter should say something about them, to start a friendship. (Interests, hobbies, how much they love geocaching etc). Just e-mail me your child's name, address...stuff I said in the first post. On August 17th, you will have the name for your mission! We too are hopeful that Little Miss Puzzle's mission will get here. I think Little Mr Puzzle is secretly hoping it doesn't, though. His half birthday mission never arrived, and Little Miss Puzzle had a secret person send her a coin package a month ago! I am sure she will get it soon! Both kids are looking forward to having new penpals....DID YOU SIGN UP FOR THE KIDS PENPAL MISSION?

I was REALLY hoping for more of response...I KNOW its only been a couple of days...but I wanted to encourage all of you to tell your caching friends that have kids to sign up! It'll be fun..and educational!

My kids just LOVED the coin mission they just did. (THANKS grodan & fiabus!!) We thought we would do another one, but with a different spin on it. I had a penpal from the time I was 10 until I was 18. The local library set it up. We didn't write to each other THAT often, but it was always a thrill to get a letter from across the ocean. The different customs, family traditions, and the neatest STAMPS! I thought it would be fun to connect some of our kids here. All of them already have something in common, GEOCACHING! Rules: Kids ages 5-15. No 4 legged kids (IE: no dogs, they don't write very well) You must be willing to send one unactivated coin to another country. You must also be willing to continue to keep in touch with your new "penpal". I MUST recieve your e-mail by AUGUST 15th. I will e-mail everyone their new penpal on or by August 17th. Since the kids will be matched up I realize their first letters to each other will cross in the mail, but I thought that would be better than half the kids waiting! E-mail me at: puzzlefam@yahoo.com Please put "PENPAL MISSION" in the subject line Please let me know your child's name, address, age and sex and whether they would prefer a boy or girl penpal. Also include some things your kids are interested in. (IE: Hobbies, books they like to read, movies they like, music they like, etc) I will try to match everyone up with a child their own age or as close as possible. I put the youngest age at 5 figuring they could draw pictures to their penpal until they can write. (Will consider younger children, just as long as they will actually draw a picture. GLAD HE LIKES IT! WHAT A CUTIE!!

I was thinking of doing a kids mission with a penpal spin on it. If you have to send a coin, BUT be willing to send it to another country and continue to write the person! I had a penpal as a kid and LOVED getting letters from her, even if it was just a couple times a year! I thought the age would be for kids 5-15. The 5 year olds can draw pictures, and have their parents write the notes. What does everyone think? I do NOT want to draw attention from this mission, so I was waiting.

There is some mix-up going on with the birthday mission. I've sent an email to ~tasia to try to get some clarity. You see, we were given the September mission for your daughter for her 13.5 birthday...but that package has not been shipped. As a matter of fact it's not even complete and it is sitting in our dining room! Something is amiss in the land of birthday missions, hopefully ~tasia will be able to track down any problems and get this straightened out. Ok thats just weird! Its not from her other mission, either! The person who sent it knew she has a travelbug out there trying to collect coins from other countries. (I'm guessing they knew) They sent her a BUNCH of coins from other countries as well as some old ones from the U.S. Don't know who sent it or how they got our address! CREEPY, YET COOL ALL AT THE SAME TIME! My poor son. Its a good thing he is VERY laid back. His sister gets an extra mission! I am going to get him something special this weekend. Think I'll get an Ammo Can and fill'r up!

I too have a confession! I did NOT make it to the post office! I got stuck at work WAY later than expected! I have tomorrow off, so to the post office I will go!

I want to apologize for my rant earlier. Apparently my son's mission WAS sent. but it never made it here! I should not have jumped to conclusions! SORRY TO WHOEVER SENT IT! I will surprise him this weekend with something! (He is at the Grand Canyon with his stepmom)

Well we occasionally buy coins, but are not collectors. We buy, em and normally send them out, PRAYING they aren't taken by someone. We have bought quite a few from Geoswag.com and they send us Oakbucks back. People who collect coins should know what they are. I will not be going to any coin events. (There aren't any in Arizona that we know of) If anyone wants these, (we have about 10) I will send them out, for FREE! Somone should benfit from them! Otherwise they will go to waste. I can't think of any other way to give these away than to post it on the forum. I am sorry if this was not allowed. First response, first person to get them! THANKS

Well my son's half birthday came and went (June 14th) The whole reason we did real birthday AND half birthdays for my kids was because he was upset about having to wait until December for his birthday. My daughter received her birthday mission in March, and her half birthday mission (which wasn't even due until September. Still DYING to know who sent it!). PLEASE OH PLEASE, if you have my son (Little Mr Puzzle) for this mission, do what you signed up to do, or at least contact us to let us know what happened. We understand stuff happens that gets in the way of our commitments. Its just hard to explain that to a kid without having an explanation! I promise this is my last post (rant) about this.

Little Miss Puzzle is going to stay at her dad's until the 11th. (Last minute get-a-away) So when she returns, we will post photos of her mission loot. Still DYING to know who sent it!

She is at her dad's until Wednesday, so it'll have to sit until then. The thing is, her half birthday isn't until September, so I wasn't sure if it was from this mission or not. It doesn't say who its from. BUMMER! It came from NY, NY. We would love to know who sent it to thank them and also to make sure it was from this mission! THANKS! Still no Half Birthday package for my son, Little Mr Puzzle. (It was June 14th)

Sounds like fun! But I started caching in the same month that my birthday is in so no big change for me! LOL CF30 So did I... i wonder how many others have started in the same month as their Bday? Hmmm, the thing about doing the month you started caching..would it be one date per team? We are a family of five and signed up for 7 missions with this. (Each of our birthdays the the two older kids' half birthdays) Five missions in one month would get pricey. We would still sign up (this was fun) but I thought I would give some feedback. THANKS!
