Close enough to show up in my nearest unfound PQ ....the same as about 50 other fanatical, coin collecting, puzzle solving, FTF hunting geocachers in the local area! Hopefully nielsenc minted enough for all of us.
Sorry, I misposted. Its 12 MD and 5 CO sold as of this afternoon. Some of the CO coins are going for more than $50 bucks!
I'm not sure what IceCreamMan is referring to, there wasn't any dutch auction for 9 MD coins at a buy it now price of $12. (At least I didn't see it... )
I just did a little bit of research about the selling price of geocoins on ebay, and am curious what everyone thinks.
IN (n=6) $14.54
CO (n=5) $42.65
AK (n=8) $22.95
MD (n=12) $17.71
Why the large difference? They're all really nice coins.
Is it because of the number that are available? Is it because of the tracking on GC.com? Is it just that it's too soon to get a reasonable market value? What do you think?
I'm not sure it was a mistake or not...the white color represents the pogonip (seriously, look it up) frost that is very prevalent in the area where the rally was run during winter months....At least that's what was said at the rally banquet when I bought mine.
I'm not sure why you're down on the groups. I'm a member of the GBA coinclub, which has about 20 members and typically orders about 60 coins. At three coins per person, that's not different than an individual order. It's not like a couple of people are hoarding all the coins so that others don't have a chance.
So, I'm kinda curious about this comment, Boulter...Do you think that the standards for hiding a cache ought to be more difficult to obtain? If so, how? I'd be curious as to what anyone else thinks, too.
