    Unlock issue

Just built/tested my first Wherigo cartridge. The unlock/completion code shows up at the end no problem. But the unlock button does not show up on the site. Is this normal? Does the site need some time to catch up? Thanks
  3. Well, I spent a month in south west fl this winter. I thought I would place a cache as we plan on visiting again and the area could use a cache. Maybe I just never want to forget fl. Anyway I need someone in the area to help out with maintence so I can get my cache published. Thanks
  4. My cache was denied. Do you think it should have been?
  5. I am glad I found this thread. I was think about how this could be done the other day. Wap access is very expensive in Canada, but txt messaging is relatively inexpensive. GCXXXX: Cache Name Traditional, Small, 2.5/2.5 100.2mi SE N37 14.234 W 86 10.352 Seems like the best format.
  6. Hey Evevyone, I have one day in Daytona Beech and so many caches. What 5 would you do?

  8. Patience, young grasshopper. All good things come with experience.
  9. I need some help transferring my gpx files to my gps. I bought a Asus EEE pc (Linux based) for travel and geocaching. I am new to gpsbabel. I have gpsbabel installed and working (I believe). I am using the following command to upload the gpx file to my gps. gpsbabel -w -i gpx -f 1131117.gpx -o garmin -F /dev/ttyUSB0 The command does not show any type of error or response. The gpx file has 400 caches within it, but only 20 transfer to my gps? Does anyone have any type of experience with this type of problem?
  10. Check out my cache if you make it down the boardwalk, GC14H1W.
  11. Got one of these off ebay for $17. Thanks for the advice everyone!
  12. I realized today that I have way too much in my pockets and I could have used my camera today. What do you guys and girls use? I am looking towards the MEC Pod Sling Pack.
  13. You are right and wrong. You are right in that the hider could keep in mind that some finders are complete idiots and do things like that and try to hide accordingly. You are 100% wrong that it's the finders fault. That I can do things that make me a lot more likely to get mugged never under any circumstances makes the mugger only partially to blame for the mugging. Some with a cache hide. When you see a cache like that and you suspect that it's the hide have created a situation where the morons can do their best work while seeking the cache...then email the cache owner your suspicions. They they are good cache owners they will assess the situation and archive the cache or note that the mess is exactly like it was when they place it and no action is needed. I agree with your point. Interesting thread.
  14. I have ran into a few caches in my area placed in the middle of trees and bushes. As a result these trees and bushes have been destroyed. This is not right both parties are to blame, the hider and the searcher. Can anything be done about this? Is this breaking some type of caching rule? Thanks
  15. How long does it usually take to get a cache approved?
  16. I am in the market for a new GPS. I have my standard budget rig. Garmin Etrex and a Palm M105. Does a GPS exist that lets you load the GPX file information (Hints, Description, etc) directly to the GPS? That way I would just have one device. I was looking at the Venture CX and the geocaching mode, would that do?
