Anyone else having this problem. Its only happened today. Ive turned my unit on about 3 times and they both took over 2 minutes to get a signal, even in and open field. Really odd. Im in north Los Angeles County. and no, its not the smog.

Any other Southern Cali (San Fernando Valley) cachers?
DodgerBlues replied to Cyclosarin's topic in West and Southwest
Sorry, couldn't really remember where he lived when I wrote the message. Hence the collective reference at the end. yea, ive been caching over in Griffith Park, but had no luck. I hit Woodley Park and found 1 of 2 i looked for. The second search was halted early due to a baby snake i encountered and wasnt gonna stick around to check for it's rattler. -
I saw a very cool documentary awhile ago about graffiti in different countries around the world and some of it was absolutely gorgeous, there is no doubt that some graffiti is executed with great skill. In a couple of cases the artists were actually sanctioned by property owners so it was actually elevated from graffiti to commisioned art. Congrats on your first cache! yes, there is a difference in graffiti. I really dislike the 'name tagging', thats when they just write their names on things. Of course, nobody should deface other people's property.

Any other Southern Cali (San Fernando Valley) cachers?
DodgerBlues replied to Cyclosarin's topic in West and Southwest
I too am new to this and live in Reseda. It would be great to hear your experiences in the area. -
dont know if its too late. Ventura County is a beautiful place just a few miles north of L.A. Try visiting Santa Barbara and taking in the missions from the early settlers. Plus, if you can pay a visit to Slovang (dutch city), its a popular tourist stop.

DodgerBlues replied to Bloencustoms's topic in General geocaching topics
Hello. My name is Beto (beh-toh) and I just received my new Garmin GPS60cx and very new to this. I troll around the boards, read a bit and ask questions........ just hope i don't drive any of you nuts, i mean no harm. Looking to master my Garmin and conquer the world, but if i only manage to add a little more adventure to my life I'll be fully satisfied. [benstern]Thank You[/benstern] -
I miss not hearing voices in my head and since im now cured, it would be nice to have my Garmin tell me in that oh so sexy voice to turn left. I just got one and figure that is a non-feature, but are there any car kits with em? Thanks.

I just browsed through the Google Maps and what fine detail those satellites show, down to every tree. Now looking at my GPS topo maps........ it makes them look very archaic. Is this the way of the new GPS? I mean, how can you compete with such a satellite shot? Im sure our GPS technology will get to that point. I've actually lost some interest in my brand new GPS (navigator, topo) handheld. Anyone else feel this way? Maybe it's cuz im on fumes and should get some sleep. What ya think? http://maps.google.com/maps?client=firefox....002511&t=h

Newbie: Garmin GPS 60cx - Trip and Waypoint Manager disc missing
DodgerBlues replied to DodgerBlues's topic in How do I...?
ok. i was a bit confused. TOPO Maps i can buy used with no need for an unlock code. Now, the City Navigator, i need an unlock code. Is that code assigned to the map or the Garmin unit? -
