  1. hmm, sounds like a challenge.. That would be a challenge to take a wooded area and pack one right on top of another. Pick the coords ahead of time and put the caches at the coords. It would be a power forest.
  2. I wanted to put a cache in an urban area and call it something like "cachizzle dizzle my nizzle" or something like that. It might get a negative response too.
  3. Thoughts should be directed toward the new feedback button. I like it.
  4. I'm not sure I have come across one of those. Darn cranky balls neighbors!
  5. You wouldn't have a hard time if you would just remember your glasses when caching!
  6. Unless you're looking at a spot with an insanely high cluster of virtuals and mysteries, your math has to be wrong -- the 161 m limit puts a cap of 36 per square kilometer on cache density. And even that is quite contrived, depending on a precise grid spacing between all of the caches. If you assume that caches are placed randomly (and that the entire area is viable for cache placements) then the probable limit is 25-28 per square kilometer. Of course, normally the entire area isn't viable, so the practical limit on density is somewhat less than that. Duh. Your right about the math. I think it would be closer to 50 though.
  7. I'd like to see who can step up and be the first person to admit that they have acted like one of these teams. You know it has happened.
  8. I removed some of your wording to make it more accurate. Earth caches are not geocaches and have no place in geocaching. They started this Waymarking stuff and should stick with it. Earthcaches = stupid. Not that it isn't interesting and everything, it's just not a geocache. Cheating? That seems extreme. Anyone can play anyway they want. Since earthcaches aren't geocaches what difference does it make? What difference does it make anyway? It's all good. Just have fun with it. Worrying about someone "cheating" doesn't seem like a lot of fun.
  9. Maybe my math is wrong. Need someone to double check. 194 per KM?
  10. I think it is a fine idea. Those trail segways look pretty cool. As long as it is quiet and don't destroy the trail then all systems go. I've ridden one of those. I hated it.
  11. It doesn't need to be. Whys that? It will get wet if not. That is likely. All caches need not be waterproof.
  12. Besides the fact that you will probably have a run in with the fuzz LPC's are good for caching at night.
  13. I've found caches like that. I made a pen cache before I found one too. (I never placed it.) Eventually it will get taken or tossed. I love the outside the box thinking! It doesn't need to be.
  14. I've never seen a purple person, let a alone a purple hooker. How do you know the hooker wasn't geocaching? They geocache too. Not all but some.
  15. Why open the door when you can just reach out and grab it? You do it the hard way!
  16. Wow. That is one way of racking up the posts. Be careful. If you get too many people may accuse you of posting just to make your count higher. (Yeah- it's happened to me.) I'd rather see rep points or something rather than post counts. A nice "THANKS" button would be nice to thank those who have helped you.
  17. I get it. That is nice when people drop you a line. It's great that it has moved. It started off in Ohio so that is encouraging. The last two batches I dropped off at events we hosted last year. Some are expecting an event this summer too but were kind of frazzled so I'm not sure that there will be one...
  18. I thought you might have had a travelertag tracking code/page. I guess I don't remember where the tracking codes are at. How did you know the card moved? Did the host email you when they moved it? I'm a little slow.
  19. Do you have a link? For some reason I don't seem to have that on my list. Maybe I have two accounts. It's been so long I don't remember. Here is my list. I think I may have committed a sin and moved a couple without logging. We have so much swag in some of our caches and no one seems to trade around here so I think lots of them get pushed aside because people don't know they move. I did move some that were in there a while. Once. I think. I'm getting older and more forgetful.
  20. That should be a sticky.
  21. When I signed up they offered 10 free. It changes from time to time. This is not a Groundspeak project. You would do best to search for free traveler tag or just traveler tag. You don't see them too often and items don't seem to get logged as much.
  22. That would be a wasted sticky. That seems even worse than keeping track of who is FTF.
  23. I received an email from a cacher who had grabbed a card to move. They grabbed it from a cache 400 miles from where it started. I do not know who this card is going to but the host talked about taking it west. Maybe it is for GIDEON-X or Moose Mob. If I do this again I will have each recipient grab their own traveler tag tracking number. The last I heard you only got 10 without charge and I used all 10 of mine up on a batch of cards. Doh! I guess it isn't the GIDEON-X card. I just noticed that one has traveled the furthest and was in AZ a few months ago with almost 1900 logged miles. The next greatest logged mileage was a measly 60 miles...
  24. First off welcome to caching. Secondly, I understand your frustration but it sounds like you have two separate things mixed up. If they were new chop sticks then that is a great item to leave! Why? Because kids will like them. They are interesting! Your concern seems to be that folks are not trading evenly. One pair of chop sticks for a $1 item is not a fair trade. It has nothing to do with geocachers. This is people in general. He will do what is to his advantage. Some couldn't care less while others err on the side of caution and trade up. Fortunately in our area we don't ever have to re-stock because few people take things and the ones who do trade. Sweet. When we first started I left a NIP LED flashlight. Shortly after a seasoned caching couple came and traded for it. They left their signature lucky penny. I guess they figured the luck made the penny so much more valuable!
