  1. Haa haa batsgonemad very funny. The trick is for the guys to find the ones I hide. Co-ordinates might be off on some. Besides my GPS just broke last Sunday after I was caught in a bit of rain at Worlds view. Speaking of worlds view, did you perhaps scrawl on one of the railings. It's says 'bat loves kash'.....

Congratulations are in order on the following two achievements attained on their whirlwind tour of my part of the world. They managed some 26 caches in two days. B. Whelan - Reaching 200 finds early in the tour Noddy reaching 800 finds towards the end of the tour.... Well done guys I wish I could have been around to meet you guys. I was in the meantime trying to get to 3 of your's in the PMB, Howick and Mooiriver areas.

    Welcome

Welcom carbon hunter... May you have many happy caching days ahead....
  4. great stuff. As mentioned by Fish Eagle, chalets are full. so camping in tents is the order of the day. I was actually hoping to go through to morrow and get a few spaces organized but will unfortunately be working in Howick. I have not been able to get things done the whole week with work commitments in the wrong direction. Noddy and B.Whelan are staying there tonight apparently so they will have all the prices. I will in all probability be going on Sunday to select the area we will camp. Please book from your side, ill arrange with the owners in regards to the sites. Will inform when. ready. Saterday braai and social at the park. depending on numbers will see where in the park.
  5. Aaargh pity will miss you. But I am also working that weekend.... come to think of it. Swap and change time....
  6. News in thanks Fish Eagle, there seems to be a problem regarding accomodation now. Some company booked all the chalets for their Christmas party. So tents it may just have to be for Saturday evening. But that won't stop us, or will it. I will look for other possibilities.
  7. Here is the Event listing - GC16G7H Will update as I get more info. Somehow I cannot get the link working.
  8. 27/28 October. Logged it as an Event. Will look at doing Majuba first in the morning of the 27th at about 8:30 to 9:00 for the start and be in Utrecht by 14:00 for the start of the Event. Pitch tents etc. and have a great braai and social. Sunday morning we can get out and search caches in Utrecht area and do a drive through the game reserve. Need to get the ball rolling here, Fish Eagle has confirmed who else will be interested. I think it is safe to say that Neville Bailey will also be there, maybe Megaben. Come guys a show of hands here.....
  9. I think it would help if we can all put a bit of Effort into this and as we browse through let's say a 100 km radius of our home co-ords. Any that we do pick up as not been adjusted we can make a note of it and with this info send it all through to Erik88L-R. But only once we have all the active cachers doing the updates. I think that we must realise that many of those who have not done the updates may also not have actively cached in the last few years too. May have a different email or many emails that they just haven't read the one they signed up on Geocaching with for a while. I know Erik88L-R probably won't have too much hassle updating some of them as he will know where they are but every little bit might help. Just a thought.....

I suppose I need to give you 246 reasons to come join us..... Mmmmm. maybe if you can give me you reasons why you can't join us.... Or are they excuses? LOL... Just joking. Pity you can't come....
  11. Right the story goes like this. I have been toying with the idea of going up the Majuba Mountain to do the cache up there for quite a while now. I have sparked the intrest with a few others but need to find the best time to do this one. Now Fish Eagle has confirmed that he is going to be in the area during the weekend of the 22 or 29 so I am thinking if there is enough intrest I might make it into an event. Possibly looking at the 29th October. So a show of hands. Anyone interested? I need some dates if you can't make it that weekend. Votes count.

OK this is getting a bit hectic. I have put out the word and some people cannot make it for those weekends but as you initiated this I will have to go with either of them two weekends. I am aiming towards the last weekend as people should have been paid by then. I am hoping that the other parties interested can make the trip as I would love to get a bunch of us together for this. Maybe even push it as an event. As I have not yet attended an event yet I am unsure what exactly happens at one. So as a newbie I am not sure if I can class it as an event cache or just a general get-together. I think that I will stick with the last weekend and as you mentioned staying over at Utrecht that might be a good starting spot for it. Majuba is not that far from Utrecht and I already have 3 caches in the Utrecht area of which only one has been found so far. There is a great camp site at Utrecht and there are self catering chalets available. I really wish I could get everyone up/down for the same weekend but it is difficult to do. So lets see a show of hands, who is keen?

Dude I can't tell a lie, I put that bag of coins in your backpack while we were on our way up Cathedral Peak... Now you know why I struggled up till lunch time..... LOL. Girry was in on it too. I snuck them in your bag while you were munching them lekker tuna sarmies.... After that the peak was a chinch to reach with the weight gone from my pack........ It was a well planned ploy to get that there FTF.... Hey got the disc in the post today.... Thanks dude it was awesome. I actually saw the mountain this afternoon from Bergville. I was wanting to go and do a quick maintenance on the cache but it looked a bit wet up there..... If I work it out right I should have been close to the top by now.
  14. Seems ike the note to wife did not work..... what happened dude?
  15. Nice where you get them and how much?

Have you found any of them missing coins over that side?
  18. Can't remember where but I was browsing through some cache logs and I found that the person who left it went and entered a 'Found it' log on his own cache. Is that right, I don't think so. I just wish I could remember where I saw it. I can understand that some people make a mistake and might actually be trying to log a note. But this was a genuine log as the description mentioned that he had a great hike up and found the cache quite easily. I just can't find that log anymore. Might be that he deleted it, but he took his time cause the log was a few weeks old.
  19. Cheers, enjoy. Number of caches in the cape 10, number of mine that you haven't found 25, UK over 20 000.... OK you win....

Well done Tricky Vicky and Micky. Been watching you guys fo ages sitting on 1199 finds.
  21. DNF - Did not figure..... Dumbass not finking..... Always look in the black bag dammit.....
  22. Imagine this: "Sorry Mr. cache owner it would seem that your cache was muggled. Here is a photo of a pile of rocks with an unsightly black bag wedged under them. Back in Europe where I am from that would be frowned upon. Anyway I thought that I might be able to log the find as I found a place, ie: the pile of rocks that the box might have been placed upon at some stage, much the same way as we do back home. But seeing that your country seems to have a high crime rate I guess that some person came and removed your cache box from the top of that pile of rocks. The area that you chose seems to be very pleasant with lovely views of rolling fields of grass and small trees, amazing that out in the open area like this that you find a small pile of rocks like this to put a cache on. Now that I am back home in Europe, I wish I had just removed that horrible black bag that was spoiling the area. Please maintain the cache and before you put the cache back on top of the pile of rocks please remove that black bag...." Duh!!! Does this guy get to log it or not....

Congratulations to the following: cownchicken: - 1000 Oh my goodness I can only dream of reaching those figures... Megaben - 200 Cleminsons - 50 Cabey - 50 Well done to all of you....
  24. good point. but I find that it gives me a general idea of all the new caches elsewhere in the province. rather than having to see a new cache placed in cape town which would be 1700+ kilos from home. but if a new one shows is in Kzn then I might be close enough for it. I still prefere the search within the 100 mile radius of a given co-ordinate. Still it`s nice to have a breakdown of each province. Can also give a general idea of where you will be going for caches.
  25. ha ha ha. that's sure to sort out the hike up there again. it will certainly help if someone happens to move the big rock off my cache at big rock, big view.
