  1. Look for the Garmin 295W. You can't add programs to it like you could on a Palm, but it would satisfy all your other requirements, and for only about $80 before taxes and shipping. It has Wifi, a fairly rudimentary web browser, pretty good email, and it also has a geolocating camera too. Check out this thread: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=265480 Many people are excited about this little gem. I know I am, anyway. Sweet, will definitely check it out thanks! I would love to here others tips or reviews on other units post Ique!
  2. So I have had an Ique 3600 for 5 years now. It's definitely the greatest model I believe Garmin has ever produced in terms of overall functionality, and usefulness. As I believe everyone knows they were discontinued haphazardly to the disappointment of many including myself. I have been searching for a similar replacement with all the same functionality (GPSr, MP3, programs + maps via SD, good battery life, accepts most mapsource maps, large screen, 12 v. adapter, etc) but I also am looking for a unit that picks up a Wifi signal. Everything I have found either has a small screen, doesn't accept mapsource maps etc. I like the Palm OS's icon system much better than Window mobile's layout as well. I use my ique for everything from car navigation, hiking, boating, and obviously Geocaching but I don't know if a unit exists that excels as well as the Ique did. Anyone have any tips?
  3. I am selling a mint copy of above stated City Select, comes with jewel case, S/N and if you tell me your unit ID number (PM if you don't know how) an unlock code for your GPSr unit! City Select is great for driving and geocaching with more than 5 million points of interest, including parks, restaurants, hotels etc, and amazing auto-routing capabilities! Compatible with most modern Garmin units, can be copied to micro-SD cards too! I have great (470) pos. ebay feedback and have bought and sold on the forum before. $35 OBO, paypal preferred
  4. Hi all, I just recently installed Cachemate. I put it on my SD card in the F:\PALM\Launcher folder, along with a few plugins. The most important one being the ique mapping plugin. None of them seem to work. I start cachemate up and it looks just the same and has exactly the same options as before. Is there some way to turn on the plugins or something, I can't seem to find it anywhere. Please help!
  5. I downloaded and installed Cachemate. I figured out how to convert and import waypoints onto my Ique but I can't figure out how to show them on the map, anybody familiar with the program that could help?
  6. I can't seem to find anywhere to download Wayque anymore. Thanks for the assistance.
  7. I have been trying to figure out how to store waypoints on my SD card instead of the internal memory which gets erased every time the battery runs out. I figured since it's possible to store maps on the card, it should be possible to also store waypoints. It's just such a pain to hotsync every single time I need to use my GPS. I found the program IQ booster which will export the waypoints to the card but can they also be imported? Has anyone used it before. Thanks guys!
  8. I just bought a Fossil Abacus Watch a few weeks ago and it is aweome. Basically its got Palm OS 4.1, and 8mb of memory and it also has a 55mhz processor. It has a stylus the slides into the watch band. It has a lithium battery that last around 2 days depending on usage. But I love the little thing, its one less thing I need to carry, and its always there on my wrist. You can with the right software do just about anything with this little bugger. I can turn on and off anything that has a remote. I can play games. I can download word document, powerpoints, pictures, excel spreadsheets, and even small movies into it. It has a 16 level grey scale, and a great touchscreen. It also has a backlight, that is a really pretty blue color. It is great for geocaching because its small, its on your wrist, and can store hundreds of cache pages. Oh yea and I forgot to mention it also has a clock. I got it for $25 on ebay, it had never even been used before. I love ebay. Here is a link about all the features it has PDA watch
  9. I have had a few Eagle explorers and an explorer II very nice GPS's for the money. About the screws, I have a set of security screw bits, which includes just about any security screw known to man. I got it in the red tag bin at the Ace hardware where I worked. The red tag bin is just random cheap tools from china, and we usually get 2 security sets everytime we get a shipment. They disappear quick though, this is the only place where I have seen them. Here I found them on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...ssPageName=WD1V at Ace hardware they are like $5 though.
  10. it is just www.portalgps.com but the site is in another language
  11. You never heard of the Eagle Explorer, or Eagle Accunav, both made by Lowrance, and which came out many, many years ago.
  12. Good 'ole magellan, I think I'll stick with Garmin, thanks
  13. I know a way you could do it. Place caches but don't list them on GC.com, and then make some sheets with all of them on and sell the sheets. Tell people that there are some really good prizes for the first finders, and some ok prizes for the second finders and so on. Then people would have to pick which one to go after first, and go find it. Just an idea.
  14. "Write in the rain" notebooks work great.
  15. I sat in my room all weekend and wrote a 8 page paper on insect reproductive mechanisms
  16. I am curious, can you tell us what the project is?
  17. If people would just grow up, and not be so easily offended by everything, this country would be a much better place. Why do you think people use those words, So people get offended and go, "aww, can you believe what he said". There is nothing anyone could ever say to me that I would give a sh*t about, why should I. What kind of life do people live if they go around and get offended by anything and everything, just take a chill pill, move on, and enjoy life. Life is to short to care what other people think and say. Sorry a little off topic. Back to the topic I don't have any problems at all with people doing homosexual or heterosexual things in their bedrooms, why should I. It is when they do them out in the open, in a public place, and do it with strangers. The only reason the majority of this topic is about homosexuals is because homosexuals make up the majority of those who do it. You don't see a married couples going out to the local park do you? If they did people would be just as p*ssed too. THIS is not about homosexuals it is about public indecenty, disrespect, and the right to go out geocacheing without being afraid of getting raped, or seeing something you don't want to see, especially for children. Yes, I guess your right, thanks for the idea
  18. please note: this is not a knock on magellan, and certainly not the beginning of a flame war. i just wanted to mention that i started using a garmin gpsmap 76, and then bought a used magellan sportrac to try out. it took me a good hour or so to figure out how the menu was configured. it didn't seem ergonomically designed at all compared to my garmin. the magellan also had the usual stress cracks in the case. i sold the magellan and never bought another one since, but i have bought many garmin units, and have been extremely pleased with everyone. the magellans are good units - however, i started geocaching with a garmin, so that's what i'm comfortable using, (and they don't have stress cracks( just thought that may factor in to your decision. --. .- .-. -- .. -. ... .- .-. . - .... . -... . ... -

  20. Where did you find that encoder/decoder. The only one I can find is thishttp://www.extensionsmirror.nl/index.php?showtopic=1530 one, but it only works for Rot13, and not the others you mentioned.
