  1. Obviously we need a third log type: Didn't find it but entitled to claim a find anyway. It can even come with its own special souvenir. See thats the thing here, the OP said nothing about entitlement. The CO infact is offering the OP to log a find. Big difference, so put your lame badge away. It ain't for the OP, it doesn't look like they need it. Oh, must have been an attempt at comedy. Still lame. You're probably right. Heck, it might even be as lame as logging a find on a cache you didn't actually find... Not even close. That joke was pretty lame.
  2. Oh yeah thats the same thing. Jumping off a bridge and finding a cache. I want some of what you people are smoking. Sorry, but its all gone. However, you are welcome to walk around with an empty pipe in your mouth and try to act cool, as it's much like logging a fake find. I had NO idea that logging fake finds would make you cool...who would of thought that? And I thought jumping off a bridge with an empty pipe in your mouth was cool. It appear that you have plenty to learn, grasshopper. I'm sure I can learn a lot from a _fool?

  5. And if the cache owner said it was okay to log a "find" without ever leaving your armchair, then would logging an armchair "find" be okay, too? Not the same thing here. The cacher was there and the cache was gone. The owner checked and the cache was gone thus telling the cacher it's ok to log a find. The principle is the same, though. In neither case does the geocacher find the cache. In neither case does a cache owner giving permission change the fact that the geocacher did not find the cache. Of course, in both cases the geocacher could log a "find." But in both cases, I think it's a rather silly thing to do. It's not something I do (although I've been given the opportunity to do so several times). In THIS case the cacher was there and the cache was missing. Then the CO says to go ahead and log a find. In YOUR case it's not even the same. You get me. I agree he didnt find the cache BUT the CO said it's OK to log a find. I know people who do this and seems fair to me. In THIS case the cache was missing, so the geocacher DID NOT FIND it. The CO's permission doesn't change the fact that the geocacher DID NOT FIND it. Thus, logging a "find" in this situation seems rather silly to me--with or without the CO's permission. It's really just that simple. I dont think it's silly to log a find. The CO said go ahead and thats all that matters, silly or not. It's really just that simple.

The cacher was there and the cache was gone. The owner checked and the cache was gone thus telling the cacher it's ok to log a find. Log a find, no big deal. I think that is a very nice CO to do that.
  10. Having a team account or family account I think it's ok to cache without eachother and claim finds. I don't see a reason to have seperate accounts, but thats how I play.
  11. If the cache owner said it was ok to log a find because the cache was missing, I would think logging a find would be OK. I say go for it and call it a day.
  12. I had grabbed some poison oak stems without leaves and then went to the bathroom behind a tree right after. Lets just say you can break out with just touching the stems . I have a bad reaction to PO. I carry alcohol wipes with me when I hike in these areas.
  13. Vandalize a burnt cache? Thats funny. I would log a NM and let the CO decided what to do.
  14. I personally think that you were going to do whatever it was you were going to do regardless of what came out in this thread. Doing an informal pole in the forum gains you nothing as none of us is the individual that has decided to give you grief. I really do not care what you say in your profile or in your logs. I was simply trying to have you look at it from the perceptive of those that may be offended. Since you refuse to do that, you will never see what the actual problem is and you will never be able to resolve it. Going through life being "right" all the time can have some serious negative consequences. I wasn't trying to be right. I was trying to get the community's opinion on the matter, and I got that. I don't specifically need to know what the guy who emailed me was thinking. Only a very small minority is getting offended by it, and I know this is a small sample, but I am sure the trend of people having no issues with my profile and logs will continue. Now to say that I wouldn't change based on the outcome of this thread is speculation on your part. Believe me when I say that if there was a overwhelming response against me, I would most definitely change my ways. I refuse to be bullied by a small minority in the geocaching community. This thread was pretty darn funny and this takes the cake right here. Don't change anything cuz we are not the ones stalking you and threating to destroy all your caches that you hide. Guess you really don't want to hide caches anyway. LMAO Oh and I don't like your profile either.
  15. I agree. Find a nice spot, there's enough parking lot hides.
  16. Still using ammo cans and peanut butter/ mayo containers. I use the spray insulation on the outside of the P.B./ mayo containers and paint them camo colors. I also shape the insulation and cover with bondo and paint. I made a mushroom once and someone liked it so much they kept it. Same thing happens when I paint up my ammo cans.
  17. I thought I got the boot.
  18. nobody said that you had to go out and find them. I still think this would be a fun idea to have these QR codes as the new virtuals.
  19. I'd go out and steal his cache and throw the dang thing in the trash. Oh, wait you can't find the cache. Lol. I wouldn't worry about it too much, there's really nothing you can do other than contacting GS to have your dnf log added back to the cache page. Seems like too much of a hassle for a dnf. Ignore list works great also
  20. Well if they reposted their logs, what's the problem. Some people are just too sensitive and can't handle the truth. Delete whatever you feel inappropriate and when your caches go missing you'll know why. Lol
  21. Sweet, just got the notification of your cache publishing. I don't see why you had to copy another cachers challenge though.
  22. I think this is a great idea. This could be like a new virtual that you had to scan to be able to log the cache.
  23. Bowing out of this at this time. I've removed our name from the list.
