  1. We're new to geocaching and have yet to buy our first GPS. We fell for the Garmin eTrex Venture Cx, mainly based on the overwhelming positive experiences on this (and other) forums. However...we're wondering how usefull the Venture really is. Apperantly a very handy feature is the ability to upload maps to it and being able to see on the gps where you are on the map. Very neat indeed. But...currently we're living in the Netherlands and maps are readily available, so no problems there. However, we just love Greece and tend to go there once a year. But it seems there are hardly any Greek maps. So that would make the mapping feature useless, right? Moreover, somewhere this year we're moving to another country and there's about a good chance that that country is (as far as we can tell) not available as map for the Venture. So this makes us wonder if we're wise to invest in the Venture or would a simpler (and cheaper) model be sufficient for us (fi the eTrex euro)? Do you really need a map feature on your GPS or does a papermap + simple GPS work well too? Thanks, N&P
