  1. Is there a way to download coords & waypoints to GPSr via Watcher? kc row, row, row your boat
  2. Is there any way to get caches along a route say from my house in Virginia to my parents house in South Carolina? kc row, row, row your boat
  3. I became a charter member before I got my gps. I like to pay my fair share when I participate in something at which I have fun. I haven't used the pocket queries yet, but now that I have a cable to upload stuff to the gps I might start using them. If you really don't have the money don't do it, but if you get any enjoyment out of it at all then I hope you feel guilty for not paying $2.50/month for cheap entertainment that is great for the whole family and it gets you out of the house! kc row, row, row your boat
  4. It seems as though someone has already done the hard work. All you do is fill in the boxes, print, then laminate. http://www.xsnrg.com/geocachingwa/asp/travelbugsheet1a.asp kc row, row, row your boat
  5. I use a "+" sign for geocaches that I haven't found yet and change the + to a space after finding them. In the Garmin 72, when selecting a waypoint by name it won't cycle through the ones with the space. You can select them but you have to select another waypoint and scroll to it. There is a setting in the G7toWin program that allows spaces and other "odd" characters, but the program trims the leading space if the 1st character of the waypoints name is a space. I will only use the space on stuff that is already downloaded, but I already have some that have been found and just manually switched them. Thanks kc row, row, row your boat
  6. I like the g7toWin program a little better, but it won't allow me to have a waypoint start with a space. It'll allow a space in the middle but not at the beginning. Oh well. my search goes on. kc row, row, row your boat
  7. I'm downloading waypoints to my garmin 72 and was wondering if there was a function to clear out the view name on map option on waypoints. Also is there a way to change all of the icons on a given list at one time or do you have to go into each one to change it? Thanks kc row, row, row your boat
  8. Which garmin do you have? 4-pin? 5-pin? Here is a search for "garmin cable" http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?MfcISAPICommand=GetResult&SortProperty=MetaEndSort&ht=1&query=garmin+cable You can further narrow down your search! kc row, row, row your boat
  9. I ordered two cables one for the cig lighter (coiled) and one for the PC interface.. I knew that I would never use them together and didn't want to have to carry it everytime I wanted to download new stuff. I think that were both under $10 on eBay. Just do a search! kc row, row, row your boat

  11. I'm getting ready to update my GPS 72 to the next version (from 2.01 to 2.02). I was wondering if I needed to save waypoints or if I could get away with just uploading the new firmware. Thanks kc row, row, row your boat
  12. We got 4 inches of sleet (not snow but sleet). My management decided to let everyone know that we'll be opening 2 hours late 15 minutes after shift started. Oh well, maybe we'll get to leave early today. I'm tired of winter. kc row, row, row your boat
  13. 302 from home 297 from work about 10 miles west of home kc row, row, row your boat
  14. I noticed that on my 72 (cheaper version of 76) had a degrees unit selection. I didn't know what that was for. I guess they use similar programs. One of my friends quipped that it is for the degrees of lat. & long.. dunno about your question. sorry. kc row, row, row your boat
  15. I'm with Sissy-n-CR. That's my data and you can't have it! kc row, row, row your boat
  16. Why is this even being proposed? Sounds like you have too much free time outside of geocaching!! I'm sure that in the world inside your head you're thinking that this would be a good idea. It is...Jeremy has already done it. He's sharing his idea with us and I personally am grateful for a new hobby. What is a mirror site anyway?? Why not go to the original instead of a cheap imitation? ok done...for now. kc row, row, row your boat
  17. I have a Garmin 72. It's $160 MSRP but you can get it for a little cheaper. It's great for this game and other stuff if you expand your horizons as well. It's an upgrade to Garmin's 12 that they have had for years. No mapping capablity but I don't think that you could get that for under $200. Good luck! kc row, row, row your boat
  18. I really enjoy this game. I know a lot of people that started this a while back already had a gps and it was something to do with something they already had. The newer people (including me) have gone out and bought a gps JUST for this game. Yeah, take my money....you've earned it!! kc row, row, row your boat
  19. Does recovered mean "found" or "picked up or collected"? I meant to ask this earlier but I forgot. kc row, row, row your boat
  20. The benchmark was monumented in 1992. The map that I was using was from 1989. I drove along 221 last night and didn't see 855 but saw a number of other road numbers. Here is the benchmark in question. http://www.geocaching.com/mark/details.asp?PID=GW2666 kc row, row, row your boat
  21. http://www.geocaching.com/mark/details.asp?PID=GW2666 I've tried to use the directions on this one too. State road 855 doesn't exist in this location. I've looked at a 1989 map of the area and no 855. There is a State Road 898 where 855 should be using the co-ords as well as the distance from Lynchburg College. This one just has me stumped. But the snow is melting now and maybe I can get a good look at the area before the snow comes this Friday! Thanks everyone for any help. kc row, row, row your boat
  22. I don't have a digital camera...Do I need to get a picture of benchmarks found? Also, What if a road in the description doesn't exist? I've looked on old maps and there is no sign of this road in that location. What to do? kc row, row, row your boat
  23. Yes, that was the one. I'm pretty new to the forums here and I figured that he was being serious. In any case, someone else who just gets giddy about their numbers being bigger than someone else might see it and really do it. Oh well. Have a good'un! kc row, row, row your boat
  24. quote:Originally posted by Mopar: Your right, LS. I should really steer clear of the forums when I don't feel good, and right now I have one hell of a headache. Maybe if you got up from in front of your computer instead of ranting about your expertise, you wouldn't have such the headache.. hmmm?
  25. I voted to suspend them. I like the new section. I actually saw a thread in another forum where one user requested people from other cities to send him a picture of a stop sign so he can post a locationless cache to artificially raise his number of hidden caches. That's just silly and annoying! kc row, row, row your boat
