  1. I agree I liked the PDF MUCH better, much cleaner and used less paper.
  2. Wooo hooo! I did it!! It was the way I was transfering the files over from the Magellan Cash Manager!! OMG!! I was sooo close to throwing this thing out! Glad I was persistent... Thanks to all of you who helped!!
  3. Thanks for your help, but I can't seem to change the Geocache line in the Active Setup to read... SD/Geocaches. This may be a silly question, but I can't seem to figure out how to hit select.. I've tried the jostick, as you would normally do to enter, but all it does is just move back up. This is so frustrating!! Any additional advice? Yes, as you say, you should use the joystick to enter. Try this: After “Select File” (step 5 above) You should see …l Memory\Geocaches\ (this is the header; you can't select it) Up One Level list of files (if you’ve saved any to your internal memory) Highlight “Up One Level” and hit Enter You should now see Internal Memory\ (again, this is the header) Up One Level Background Maps Etc. Highlight “Up One Level” and hit Enter You should now see: Internal Memory SD Card Highlight “SD Card” and hit Enter and you should see SD\Geocaches\ (header) Up One Level Files you’ve loaded to your SD card Now you can toggle down and select the file you want as your default. I just figured out my problem... There's a difference between a file and a folder in this GPS. The only way it will allow me to select the POI default is to select a file, not a folder. All of my waypoints are stored within folders, not files. And, after reading the user manual in order to create a file in my GPS, I have to select "create a new file" in my GPS, which I don't have. Hmmm, I'm getting closer. Are there any other ways to create a file if the "create a file" file is not on my gps?

  5. Thanks for the information. My POIs in the Active Setup Menu is set to Defaul POI File; however, I'm storing the files in the SD Card, under "Geocaches". How to I change the seting so that the Default is the "Geocache" folder in the SD Card? That appears like it'll give me what I need.... I hope. Thanks again for helping me out with this. It sure has been frustrating trying to figure this out. Also, I keep the files in their own folders. For example, if I'm traveling to the Coast, I'll make a folder titled "Coast", then store the respective files there. So, in theory I should be able to change the Defaul POI folder to "Coast" and then I should see the icons displayed on the map... right?
  6. I have a Magellan Explorist 500 and would love to know if there's a way to view all caches on the GPS map that I have uploaded. In other words, when I'm in a particular area and have uploaded 25 waypoints, how can I view the cache icons on the map all at once? It sure would make it so much easier to go to the next cache closest to my location.
