  1. I've had great luck at either TigerGPS or my favorite, Chumbo.com
  2. I found Chumbo (one of my favorite resellers) had it for $75 or such. It was so low that they can barely keep it on the shelf, but they said they get shipments almost daily. TigerGPS wouldn't even price match. I highly recommend Chumbo.com
  3. Garmin 60CSx Garmin Edge 305 HP hw6945 DConnex DC-0103 that powers my UMPC and/or my HP hw6315
  4. I have the top one that holds either my PDA or GPS or my UMPC... now that I have seen the quality of a RAM mount and bought into the mounting system, I'll never look elsewhere. *edit* Also, careful with removing and mounting the 60CSx... I really rubbed away some of the rubber on the bottom thinking it need to go in "belt knob" first then slide in the bottom. It's the opposite, insert the bottom of the 60CSx and then snap in the "belt knob".
  5. I'm looking for the best of both worlds on my 60CSx. I'd like to only have to buy one app... and I'm leaning toward something topographical. If Topo 2008 can provide decent topo maps for hiking and maybe kayaking plus have some simplified street routing then I would be confident in my purchase. Thanks.
  6. I was regretting the post initially since I didn't realize the price tag. But I'm glad now because your link is pretty tempting. I've been using a Kelty backpack with built-in Camelbak. It's nice on the cool days but on a muggy or hot day with long sleeves I'm sweating up a lake on my back. I'll look into your link. Thanks.
  7. I'm still rather new but with the PDA's for paperless and GPSr for tracking and pens and.... WOAH, this could work out. Urban Tool review at pocketnow.com
  8. I'll let you use my line and trust me, I'm an expert at introducing new gadgets. "I don't know, I've had it forever." or "The (company) swapped it out under warranty." I know I'm evil, I don't need anyone to remind me. ; )
  9. Thank you. I don't know why but whatever I searched for on TigerGPS ("Topo 2008", "Topo"), just didn't show the 2008 version in the list of results. Thanks for sharing, again... I was about to pony up for Topo USA and I guess my hesitation really paid off.
  10. Is that the 2008 version? Yes it is. Link? I don't see 2008 at all.
  11. Third for RAM Mounts... I got addicted to the components, too. I can mount my PDA, 60CSx and my UMPC.
  12. I live in one of the two states (last I checked) that doesn't allow any type of carry. : ( If I was allowed to carry, it would be a belt holster.
  13. Right now, here is my line-up for software: GSAK (on my tablets) Cachemate (on my PPC) Beeline GPS (on my PPC) TomTom or iGuidance (on my PPC) GPSGate (on my PPC) Trips and Waypoints (or GSAK) to export to the 60CSx Sometimes I think I like the tech more than the hunt. ; )
  14. That's funny that you mention that. As a road cyclist, I absolutely fainted when I first hit SportTracks webpage (yes, I work and love software). I was a Motionbased subscriber and almost from minute 1 of using SportTracks, I've never uploaded to Motionbased again.
  15. It's been a couple years since I've used PalmOS but I would assume it's the same install process as any ordinary Palm app. The file (.prc) is a compiled application. If you have Palm Desktop and Sync installed, you should be able to double click at get it in queue. Then, upon the next sync the application will transfer over and sit in the Application windows. I believe in GSAK there is the ability (the first option as I am doing this from memory) in the Export menu. If you click on File, then Export... there is something about Cachemate prc or something. This will.... Ok, sorry scratch that. As much as I tried to go from memory I realized GSAK has a thorough help file online. Check this out Export from GSAK to Cachemate PDB - a PDB is a Palm database. Once you export, there should be the steps on that help file to get it transferred and imported. Good luck.
  16. Can someone help identify this snake? I found a cache and when logging it, someone who found it hours after me encountered this snake. I'd like to know it is what they say it is...
