  1. Hello, I am trying to adopt a volunteer geocoin, the current owner said she sent out the adoption request and when she checked again the adopt page stated I have already been invited to adopt the coin. I have not received the request in the email and when I check the adoption page it states "Another account has been invited to adopt this listing." Has anyone run across this and know how to fix it? Am I allowed to adopt a volunteer without GC getting involved? Thanks for the help!

  4. We are very glad to see that our coin is being enjoyed, it makes us very happy! Just as a reminder, if you have ordered coins from me but have not heard from me, please check your PalPay. I still have 6 open money requests dating all the back to the 9th. I still have some coins available for those who have not ordered them yet. So if you want, please email me via my profile. Thanks again for all of those who have bought and/or traded!
  5. Thanks everyone for your interest in my sock monkey geocoin! I think that I have traded or sent a PayPal request to everyone who requested them. If I, for some silly reason, missed your request, please let me know. I still have some coins for those who want them. This coin thing is a lot of fun and work all at the same time, I cannot wait to mint our next coin!
  6. For those who have not already done so, please send me an email via my profile and I will respond with the Sock Monkey ordering information. Thanks!
  7. We got the coins and they look awesome. You will be getting the ordering info soon. I am also open to trade, but I do not have a formal want list as of yet, so if you want to trade send me a list of what you have to offer.
  8. Ha! Our dog's toy sock monkey was the art inspiration for this coin!
  9. Thanks everyone for the selling tips! I think that I have come up with a selling plan and I have you guys on this forum on my list. I ordered a total of 250 in different finishes, it is trackable with Icon (sock monkey).
  10. Here is a sneak peak of our Sock Monkey geocoin. We should receive them before the end of the month. I am also wondering what is the best way to sell my coins? I am thinking eBay/paypal but they charge a lot of fees.
  11. Look for one that likes to have the house to herself on Sundays.
  12. My wonderful wife got great advice from a local geocacher/gadget head on what new Garmin GPSr and Maps software to get me for my birthday. She got me a 60scx, an extra 1 GB microSD, and City Navigator v8 (not NT). I do not want to look a gift horse in the mouth but, I have spent some time going over the forums looking at the difference between 1GB microSD vs. 2 GB and City Navigator v8 (not NT) vs. CN 2008 (v9 with NT). The Software and MicroSD are both currently unopened and can be returned/exchanged. My question is: is it worth taking the time and effort to return the microSD and map software, then get a 2 GB microSD, then wait for the retail package for the CN 2008 v9 NT? I could live with the 1 GB card, but I am not sure how the whole map software upgrade works and I do not think you can upgrade to NT. Or is it just better not look a gift horse in the mouth? Thanks in advance!
  13. Hello, As I continue to attempt to solve some of the puzzle caches, I am finding that I need cipher software. I have iMac with OS 10.4.2. I am having trouble finding programs that will read Blowfish encryption, Monoalphabetic ciphers, steganography, and others. So if any of you Mac users know of any and or where I can find said software please let me know. Thanks for your help and have a great turkey day! TeamGeoduck
  14. I have etiquette question. Say that some one placed a multi cache series with four stages and a final cache. Each stage is posted as a separate cache listing and there is a common theme, lets say post offices. Well, the approver had only approved three of the four stages and the final cache. Now say you have found all of the posted stages (except the final) and you know of two other post offices in the area and one most likely holds the last stage that you need to find before you can get the final cache. Is it bad etiquette to seek the last stage before it is posted although you have a good idea where it is, or should you keep checking the cache query until the last stage is posted? Thank you for your advice in advanced.
  15. I want to go paperless and I use Apple Mac computers. I am wondering what PDA works best with Apple computers running OSX? Any Advice? Thanks in advance!
  16. Mine is a picture that was posted on petfinder.com that I came across when I was looking for my first dog. I thought he had my eyes, so we drove 45 miles and adoped him the next day. His name is Agent Cooper and he loves to lick stuff.
  17. I drive a Subaru Outback because is has AWD, high ground clearance, good cargo space, (if you like a truck bed try the Subaru Baja), great roof rack (with many options for bikes, canoes, and luggage etc.) rubber floor mats, bug deflector, tow package, and on-and-on. It is an SUV in a wagon package. I have taken mine on many hard core mountain roads, sugar sand trails, and flooded dirt roads and have never been stuck. All of this with gas mileage almost as good as a Honda, in fact it gets better gas mileage then my wife’s 2001 VW Beetle (she now has an Outback Sport). I know jeep is a sponsor, but Subarus rule!
  18. Well, I downloaded MacSimple GPS and bought a Serial to USB converter. The First Serial to USB converter I got (Belkin) did not work on OSX but it worked on my old iBook running OS 9.1, but the "classic" version of MacSimple was really buggy. I got a different Serial to USB converter (Keyspan) that states it can be used with OSX and my old iBook, and it did. Ohh yeah, now I'm cookin' with gas! Thanks everyone or your help, now I can sleep for the eight-hour flight to Holland instead of inputting waypoints and going cross-eyed!
  19. I think that they always have a party on the show. You can host an event cache party and have us Seminole and Orange County cachers run around The Little Big Econ at 3am sweating our buns off!
  20. I am going to Holland in the next couple of weeks and need to input as many caches in to my Garmin Legend as possible. My problem is that I have an Apple computer and cannot upload waypoints into my GPSr with my Apple. I don’t really want to input over 100 caches by hand. I am wondering if anyone can help me solve this conundrum. I am also wonder if there is any other advice for caching in Holland. Thanks TeamGeoduck
  21. We are heading to Holland this fall and I need some advice. I have never been to Holland before and am unfamiliar with its cites, streets and parks. What is the best way to research geocaches when I do not know where I am going to be and how far everything is? I am not sure if I could reach a computer to do research when I am in Holland. My wife has family there, but I do not think that any of them are geocachers. Thanks in advance, TeamGeoduck
  22. Thanks everybody, this has been a big help. By no means did I want people to figure out these cashes for me, I was just giving examples of the kinds of puzzles I could not wrap my brain around. Thank you all again.
  23. I see many puzzle caches that I just don't understand where to start. Like "Kestrel Trap" and "Olives are good" to start. Is there some big secret to understanding how to solve these kinds of puzzles? Please help.
  24. I don't want to make the sticker, I want someone to make the sticker for any geocacher to buy. I would like Groundspeak to make them so I can give them my money.
