  1. I could not Agree with you More Ghengis Jon. I am fairly new to these forums and Geocaching, and All I see on these forums is people complaining about this or that... Being a victim in one way or another. Poor me. I am offended! I dont like this, I dont like that! Logs that say co ords are 10m off!? All the Negativity! Cry me a river why dont you! Now for the contradiction: Personally, I dont like the Negativity, People that winge about the smallest things, people being holier than thou, Religeous and Political Propoganda, Micro's, Puzzle caches, the price of fuel. Poor me. I am offended by these things.... WHO CARES!!!! Stop burdening the rest of us about your insignificant nonsense. Stop whining and go Caching!
  2. Try clearing the Cache (Not Geocache ) memory on the options page of GE
  3. I too have my first TB ever placed, CAMEO the Chameleon stuck in West Pools since March 29th 2007. All he ever wanted was to move around from cache to cache... If anyone is going to Mountain Santuary Park in the next few weeks, to stay over or do the caches in this great area, please get him for me. I will only be going back there Mid December at this stage.
  4. Site does not seem to work if you have pop ups blocked. Says something about operation aborted... Anyway, That sucka looks mean!
  5. I was thinking the same thing. Each to their own I suppose, however, I dont like finding anything, but fun trinkets, TB's and Coins in a cache. I dont like Religious and/or Political Propaganda in any way shape or form. It does not bug me that much really, I just try look over them and enjoy the outdoors and the hunt.
  6. I have not been a Cacher for all that long but been a keen hiker for many years now and I have had no run in's with these critters really, besides them being on my dogs from time to time. And down here on the otherside of the world (South Africa) we have these nasty beasties and others. I suggest Garlic, Lots of Garlic, But then again, it will also keep other species away...
  7. Well reading the logs, I say maybe wp2 might need a small clue, or move it a bit to make it a fraction easier..... otherwise I say let 'em suffer! Your Cache Ratings show it is going to be tough... I have spent hours on a certain cache aswell by TeamTGF, maybe not quite 5 hours, but enough. One feels so chuffed when you do get it that it makes you forget about the frustration... for me anyway. Hey this is Geocacing after all. The Hunt is what it is all about. Not So? On the Safety aspect, One can Never give guarentee's on safety. One just never knows. I have by-passed 2 caches in my short 84 finds because it looked to be un safe. especially females! One needs to take it on it;s merits and decide on the day. Hopefully everything will pan out ok. Would hate to read a post of someone getting hurt at the hands of another person / people or something nasty like that while out caching. There is the risk of hurting oneself on a tricky cache hunt but thats another question entirely. Anyway that's my 2c worth.
  8. It just worked out that way I guess. We were at the event and had it with us for day 2 of the Fun and so had it painted up already. Then found this clump of trees and thought GREAT! Stuck it in there. About 10 cachers on day 2 went out to find caches together, really had them stumped as they were in and around this clump of tree's for a while. Almost looking straight at it. It was alot of fun.
  9. GC136R1 Can You Spot The Cache? Cache Almost Bit This Cacher! Cache with Log Sticking out once the cachers found it....
  10. I say Groundspeak should let everyone revalidate thier acount! There has been too many incidents of late and it is leaving a bad taste... If it bounces 3 Times Disable it. User can always revalidate when the issue is resolved. It is a much better option than to go around to the cachers house and do Grievous Bodily Harm for not answering mails or moving along TB's and Coins.
  11. Well this is painfull to read, I say go find him/her/it and break it's knee caps, thus, he cant cache anymore. Pitty I am too far away otherwise I would do you all a favour.
  12. Hmmmm, Yes, I Notice you have an Issue, 2 Hides in so many days... Nice One. I would suggest just to go with the Flow you know. (Poetic isnt it?) Don't sweat the small stuff. Go Caching! I too, hid 2 this past weekend and the one violated the rules by being too close to TeamTGF's Take a Hike (91m), Which I completed this weekend I will let you know. It was awsome, again, for the third time. So I will need to go a Fourth time (sigh) to go move it further away and not in the Ravine where I crunched my Van. Pity Really as there is a story to be told in that Ravine. Erik suggested I make it a Virtual of sorts and from the Ravine give some clues in a particular direction to locate the final position. Will give it a spin this weekend If I find the time to return there. I have plenty to do and hand over to collegues in the next few weeks before I leave my current employer. (read as GAD Control) Anyhooo, Have you hidden the Gold Receipt Yet? My kiddies loved finding it on the Event and took the Measuring Tape and the Camo Geocaching Bracelet (that dad is wearing). Thanks! Having fun at work explaining what it is all about. Enough blah blah for now... Look forward to finding your Caches Soon.
  13. I have been playing with it for a few days now and I like it. I cannot seem to find to (m)any Websites that have it enabled for use, but the new Geocaching website is able to use it. I have been testing it to down load waypoints to my Garmin directly from the site. Otherwise no issues with it so far.
  14. Hi Cache Fan I was looking for the job that tested all the new GPSr's, Off Road Vehicles and Camping equipment and clothing etc all while doing Geocaching. But I am afraid I could not find such a job. So I will have to do these things for free while trying to earn money another way. LeonW, Thanks for the kind wishes. It is appreciated.
  15. They comming thick and fast these days: geocacher_coza on a double Ton! Well Done. Oh, and I still owe you. AND Robin Hills on Half a Century
  16. Hey LeonW, Not really under control, I am chomping at the bit to get out there. But I have had lots on my plate these last weeks with deciding on my career, what I want to do for the rest of my life etc etc etc, Blah, blah. Actually resigned today after 8 years with company... was one of the toughest things I have done in a long time. Not even TeamTGF's take a hike was that tough. Anyway, Onto New and Exiting things shortly. Cant wait. I see you reached your Number 25 at the end of May. Well Done! Keep on Trucking!
  17. Hey LeonW, I forgot to thank-you properly for my GeoCoin you so generously gave me at Bigger and Better. Thanks very Much. I can see why Coins can be so adictive aswell.... Never mind put you out of pocket at the same time. Thanks Again.
  18. Goofster, Pleasure, The Klerksdorp Cache is actually a very pleasant area. Enjoyed it thoroughly. Thanks for the Mission Assignment. Caching with a purpose adds a new spin on things... Cant let the side down you know. I will place them this weekend somewhere. Maybe in different caches. Thanks
  19. Hi Goofster, We are heading that way this weekend. Will try and swing by the cache and pick up your 2 Geocoins if they are still there.
  20. havent spoken to the Mrs. yet. But I am Bok vir Sport! My 2 fvourite things in the World, Feasting and Geocaching (in no particular order)
  21. 100 For Rodnjoan!! 300 For CoilnBo!! Well done! Keep Caching...
  22. Some Photo's of Bigger and Better Event 07
  23. Copy From My Cache Log . . . This was the Best Event we have even been to. Oh Wait, it is the only Event we have ever been to. However, Bigger and Better 07 was Great! Thanks to Crystal Fairy for organising this and to Mazda Adventure Zone, Ananzi.co.za and Toit's Motor Group for the sponsorships and prizes. Also an extra thanks to Crystal Fairy for hosting the after event Braai. We had a great day of caching despite being "lost" for the first 30 minutes as we did not make the connection between waypoints on the GPS and the printed sheets. Bigger and Better 07 Day 2 was alot of Fun. I think more fun than Day 1 purely for the fact that I learnt So much from my fellow cachers on "How" to cache. Was so nice to put Names to Faces and get to meet everyone. What a "Lekker" bunch of people! Long Live GeoCaching!
  24. Holy smoke, Kai977 seems to have lost it! I see his/her account is locked now though. But alot of damage has already taken place. That's not GAD at all. Seems he got cheesed off with Geocaching or something. I would suggest maybe someone hacked into his mind and unleashed a Trojan Virus of sorts! Wonder what the "real" story is? Oh well, onto Bigger and Better things!
