Hi. I'm trying to download sample cartridge files that are attached to certain messages (namely RangerFox) and keep getting a board message that says the files cannot be found. I'm logged in, so I can't think of another explanation, unless they really aren't there???

Thanks. I'll give it a whirl

Thanks, Tequila. That does sound like it would work and I understood every single word you wrote...that said, I'm not sure where to put the Active_Zone_CTR and how to actually implement your suggestion. This building thing is a struggle and I've dumbed down my concept quite a bit I see the end in sight, but I'm getting more and more confused! Can you explain where it would go?

I'm creating a cart where all the zones start out as active. Upon leaving each one, they are then moved to inactive. I want the player to be able to go to any zone in any order, but when they get all the zones finished, I want it to show the final zone. Is this a command? How would that expression look? HELP! I am using Urwigo, if it helps

I have to say that your "The Early Years" series of caches makes the coolest looking cache assembly I've ever seen! Nice work. Thanks! We had a blast putting it together. It's not really a powertrail -- it takes some time to complete it as it's most all desert. Lots of good responses, here

That looks like a police badge. Series? Sorry - haven't been on the forum since ... it's a Raider shield. Series caches all start with "The Early Years" and it's in Nevada.

Here's our view right where we are. We live in a pretty rural area; however, even moving the map a bit to the east or south has too many caches for the 2 mile zoom level. We have a VERY active caching community!!

Expecting dad with questions
Leaky Spoon replied to Team_FussyPants's topic in General geocaching topics
Funny, I didn't read the author's name until I began reading the post, thinking "This sounds familiar!" While our kids are too old to have ever been caching as babies, we always took them camping. We always figured that they would be part of our interests, so we should get them out early. Sometimes it was really hard and sometimes we didn't get to go as much as we wanted. But, the more we did go, the easier it became. We even took our first on a two-week camping trip to the World's Fair in Vancouver, when he was a baby - camped the whole way up and back (dog, too!) He doesn't remember it, but we have great memories of that trip --- followed it up by a week on a houseboat. We were kids, too I think kids that get outdoors really appreciate it even more as adults. I think ours do and they have stories and memories that so many of their friends do not. It helps keep you all close and it's really nice to have shared interests (at least, until the point they choose something else ) -
Sunset From The Cache - Please Share
Leaky Spoon replied to StarBrand's topic in General geocaching topics
In Northern Nevada - from a cache that is part of a series that forms the Raiders shield in the desert: -
Doh! Finally saw how to add the photo directly

Constructed - it's a working door! I have a better pic, but I can't lay my hands on it...that was from someone's log. A series we did called Cap'n Rusty's List of Honor.

We have one, but we made our own with an ammo can. http://img.geocaching.com/cache/log/1cc5c0...439dc97835a.jpg

Around here, regular means ammo can We've built gnome houses around them - taken the lid off, put in on end and built the house around it. Lots here are painted - pirate-like, raiders-like, golden; just use your imagination!

Thanks - is building a Wherigo futile? Does GS even care or want to support this venture?? Sad

I have an Oregon and have had trouble recently. If you look at the date that says something about not uploading logs previous to that date, you might see that it's off...it is in my case. I just click that box off and upload as usual. I then delete my geocachevisits.txt file on the Oregon and start over

Thank you, Cantuland! I'm struggling with my own cartridge and am looking forward to seeing what I'm doing wrong

Terraserver doesn't work for me; maybe not anyone?? So, I am creating zones via coordinates. When I want to edit online, as suggested, I get this error: Internet Explorer Script Error An error has occurred in the script on this page. Line: 211 Char: 3 Error: Object expected Code: 0 URL: http://www.Wherigo.com/builder/zones.aspx?...62-ed6bbf5c44d4 I've restarted, rebooted and retried. What can I do to get around this? Pam

How Do You Protect Your Smart Phone While Geocaching
Leaky Spoon replied to Headhardhat's topic in General geocaching topics
Do you do anything to protect your smart phone when geocaching? I have an Otter Box protecting my phone Do you carry phone insurance because you intend on using it more outside and if something does happen the insurance will cover it? No insurance, unless it's stolen. Any helpful tips, tricks or techniques you use that would be helpful to others in regards to the applications or use of your smart phone while geocaching? Keep it charged, even obsessively. Which smart phone do you use for geocaching and how much? Apple iPhone 3G - use it continually. Used to use it for field notes, but now have an Oregon that I just received. -
How many Geocachers also do Postcrossing?
Leaky Spoon replied to Annie & PB's topic in General geocaching topics
I do postcrossing .. it's fun!!! -
Our troop incorporated placing a cache in conjunction with also placing an historical marker. They carried this huge rock marker up into the desert and placed it on an historic trail - they also did maintenance and placed another marker at the other end on other trips. That way, they were learned history, gained historic trails patch and geocached (as well as hiking and camping in the same trip!) Lots of fun. It's listed on gc.com and is open to all.

HELP: will the reviewer believe me?
Leaky Spoon replied to chrisrayn's topic in General geocaching topics
We've recently come up on a situation like this. In attempting to do a multi, the 2nd stage clearly took us to a spot of likely access that said "No Tresspassing! Trespassers wtill be Prosecuted" so we left. We contacted the CO and specifically asked "Can you assure us that permission has been granted to enter this property?" The CO's response was that the no trespassing sign was against vehicles (sign did not say that) and that the nearby office building uses the area to walk the canyon. This didn't indicate clear permission, so we don't feel we have the right to go back. I think that if you have permission and it so states on the cache page (to help alleviate fears) we'd search for your cache. I know some don't mind crossing those signs and I know that not all signs are valid, but we won't cross them Good luck! I hope it all turns out for the best! -
How many goat farmers geocache
Leaky Spoon replied to wimseyguy's topic in General geocaching topics
OMG! Those goats are trampling the wildflowers. They're creating carnage in the delicate sub-arctic tundra! Keep this up and it will mean an end to goating forever!! Oh... sorry. Back OT... I think the answer is 5. I can't believe your post, you have to be kidding. Oddly enough, those are my goats and they have permission to create all that carnage, so reporting me to the reviewers is unnecesary! I believe the answer is 42, but I don't have geochecker installed! -
