  1. On Thanksgiving my daughters and I went to find a friend's cache, only to run into her doing cache maintenance. Fortunately, she spotted us before we got there so she wouldn't completely give it away. She did stay there watching us (prolly partly my fault,) and it was distracting in a way. It was interesting having the hider there. The problem is that with her watching, I didn't want to stray from where the GPS insisted the cache was. I had an idea of where to look, but since it wasn't where the GPS said, I felt a little embarassed to look that far away... Of course that's where it turned out to be. I've also gone with family looking for caches that I've found and I'm sure I caused them the same kind of problems...

  3. We got a few started... EliJoMikMiNi--or at least Eli and occasionally Mik. I work with Eli and told her about Geocaching. I let her borrow my GPS to try out our Hometown Family Picnic Cache. She got there but wasn't willing to put her hand in a tree to find the cache and she gave up (it wasn't hidden there anyway.) Then she took the GPS farther north to Cache-Potato's Mothman cache and after finding that she's been completely hooked. She had the GPS as much as me for a little while there until she got a chance to get her own. Now she's more addicted than I am. I also got my brother and his family hooked (along with my parents to a lesser extent) last July when I visited them in Wisconsin. The Geozingers have been having fun with some of those great Wisconsin area caches. I can't wait to get them over here searching the hills for some West Virginia caches!
  4. I need to get the data on my friend's track on a cache hunt. When she got back, I took her GPS so I could save her tracks, etc to see what showed up. We had no idea we'd find something like this. They were just looking for a cache--they weren't trying to draw anything, but it sure worked out that way!
