  1. Geez, only just found this script.... they work excellently ! Thanks Roolku
  2. As you can see from my post count, I'm not a regular poster on GC.com... however I just wanted to say THANKS Ian for all the hard work. I only recently started looking at your site and really look forward to it's return! Keep up the good work
  3. I agree, the site has vastly improved in speed and at least from my personal experieces has had a very good uptime over the last few months. Due to the nature of geocaching, it's understandable that some members will become quite frustrated with downtime though expecially if they wanted to use the site before going out for the day. It might be nice for GC.com admin to tell us what actually caused the outage though, just so we know Just my 2p
  4. I am probably stating the obvious (sorry ) but I noticed Tesco tell the boxes (lock and lock?) which are most common with geocaches (in this area at least ) I suppose one would want the type that has some sort of seal around the lid and has a positive seal when locked. Saying this, I've been to a few caches with quality boxes which have been damp/wet inside, so the 'logbook in snap-seal bag' routine is always a good one.
  5. Does this come with respirator mask too
  6. You could also try sticking them on eBay PDSA is a great cause, I hope you manage to raise some cash from it whichever way you choose.
  7. It depends on what functionality you want. GPXsonar has been recommended to me by a couple of people who swear by it. If you're happy with your handheld GPSr and only wanting the PDA/Palm to replace the paper printouts, it seems that program is all you need. I personally use three different bits of kit (to be complicated ) 1) MS Autoroute with USB GPS running on a laptop in the car to get me to the rough cache site. 2) Paper printout of the cache page, soon to be replaced with PDA and GPXsonar. 3) Regular Garmin GPSr to find cache I'm also a relative newbie to geocaching though, so theres a good chance I'll chop and change my methods
  8. Guglielmo Marconi lived there and conducted experiments from his room. Not sure if you're looking for something more specific..
  9. 24 hours then he forfeits his chance to post a question? Gavin
  10. As is very often the case, the good old British press don't quite get the facts right I suppose 'Global Positioning Device' sounds more exciting than 'plastic 35mm film container' On a more serious note, I hope this doesn't cause any ill feelings by the-powers-that-be towards Geocachers in general. It's not surprising that caches in some public places might be mistaken for something more sinister though. I now understand why most caches contain the wording "Contents Harmless" Gavin
