  1. what type of Camping Facilities do they have??? or are you roughing it??? Give me a Tall ship, and a Star to steer her bye... The White Fleet....
  2. I don't waste my time reading ANY of those...and this thread may make that list also! Give me a Tall ship, and a Star to steer her bye... The White Fleet....

A seed pod from the tree that the cache is hidden under, or one that was easily found on the way in would be trash. A seedpod from a Non-native plant could spell trouble for an area. This (as far as I would be concerned) is a NO NO. Give me a Tall ship, and a Star to steer her bye... The White Fleet....
  4. I thought like you did, early on...and even posted a similiar "suggestion" (which someone may or may not Markwell). But it was pointed out to me,(and I agree) that the only thing this would really do, is saturate areas with tons of half-*** caches that people would place only to satisfy a numeral ratio. There would be no real thought as to placement, and the general public would take umbridge at our activites, due to the amount of trash. that would be out there all Marked "Geocaching.com". AS it stands now....sure it may seem one sided, but the "users" aren't hurting us, and the numbers of Good High Quality caches is HIGH. keep on Caching.... 5. AS a former Photo-journalist, I can tell you I used to always have a scanner on....and as soon as a call would come in, I'ld be gone. Sometimes arriving on scene faster than the cops. if the cops start using Coordinates Many people won't have a clue as to where the action is. Plus it's more accurate than some street names... Give me a Tall ship, and a Star to steer her bye... The White Fleet....
  6. I can see the Cache Log NOW.....Approaching cache we found a skeleton tied spread eagle over an anthill with lots of fire ants crawling over it. There was a note in teh cache saying...if you find Captain Mad Morty McVane nearby please leave him alone....we decided to make him a permanate fixture for all his plundering. Do you have anthills in AZ? Beware the darkside...... Give me a Tall ship, and a Star to steer her bye... The White Fleet....
  7. what is so interesting that is 12 miles out??? But if it's near a Bouy you can place a Physical in a ammo can attached to the bouy...now that might be interesting. Of course you can do this.... Attach ammo can to 55 gallon drum filled with cement. Use a cable that is Depth Minus 50 feet so it doesn't get tangled in any passign ship props and push it over the side...mark it a 5/5 Scuba gear required LOL.... Give me a Tall ship, and a Star to steer her bye... The White Fleet....
  8. Frankly I'm of the opinion that New York touches the ocean, and the ocean touches California.... So if I were to Exit New York on a boat and sail to California I would be with-in the letter of the rules...But a sailboat would take quite a bit of time to reach the west coast. I don't see borders....there's water and there's land....I prefer the water thank you... Give me a Tall ship, and a Star to steer her bye... The White Fleet....
  9. How about the secret Cache for where Saddam is hiding??? Give me a Tall ship, and a Star to steer her bye... The White Fleet....

  14. This being a LONG weekend for MANY people....I hope that lots of bugs get moved...those in caches get picked up, and those that are being held get dropped offed.... it would be nice if we had at least 50% being moved this weekend. I am goign to check out a spot for a possible 4/4 or 5/5....some may not feel that the spot isn't anything above a 3/3...but with the unknown sinkholes in the region it's not a trek for Kids running loose... 15. Some of you people should just crawl under a rock and stay there.....you remind me of the guy in the cabin(The last person alive in this world lives in a cabin on top of a mountain. and the Door is locked!) Danger is all around all of us ALL the time, There is NO escaping it. You can go out and LIVE LIFE....or you can hide and let it pass you by! You don't know HOW good it feels to be alive, until you confront DEATH straight in the FACE! NOW I'm not saying to go out and throw all caution to the wind....But if you're going to be in this SPORT! then you better go in prepared. That means having the RIGHT GEAR, Training and Researching your distination! As they say in Scuba Diving, Plan your DIVE and DIVE your PLAN.
  16. I have 2 that are Post Dated(still awaiting Approval) The Reason I post dated is I need to secure the Approval of the Parks Departments that have control over where the caches will be HID! I need to have a cache page to complete paperwork for those caches. and I've been asked/requested/told NOT to place the caches before they've been approved by the Parks Department. I have temporarly disabled each cache so one-no goes looking for it before it's Placed. But these are the rules that I have to operate under to place caches in State Parks... The Logs are placed so that anyone looking knows why it's under such a status. There is nothing like a Packrat who is a geocacher.
  17. Who's the Approver for Central PA??? It's going on 48 hours for 2 caches that I have submitted.(true they are also waiting for PArk Ranger Approval, but I am following their rules) There is nothing like a Packrat who is a geocacher.
  18. Has any one submitted their caches for approval in any State Parks??? I have 2 pending. In looking at the Form you fill out you need the geocaching URL for your cache. I've had to 1 Fill out cache with geocaching.com 2 Submit Forms to Park Ranger for permission 3 wait for permission. 4 place cache. I am currently waiting Approval(from everyone) Ranger asked that Caches NOT be placed until they're approved! There is nothing like a Packrat who is a geocacher.
  19. Will GeoCaching Stickers be done in various sizes??? I went to the local Pa State Park office today to get 2 two caches approved(they give you the stickers) The Standard sticker appears to be 5x10 inches. while this size is OK for Ammo Cans. I find they're a bit too large for some Tupperware(or Rubbermaid) Containers. I found I had to cut the one in half and placed the information section on the lid, and the logo portion on the bottom. I think 3x6 and 4x8 stickers would also be good for smaller tupperware container. maybe even a 2x4 size??? BTW According to the Ranger, he has to submit the paperwork for approval from HIS supervisiors, which could take about 2 weeks, and I'm NOT allowed to place teh caches until I get called from him. So Even if I get approval from Geocaching(which I have to submit first so I can complete the paperwork). The caches won't be in their location until I get Ranger Approval(which is why my "new" caches will be temporarly disabled) There is nothing like a Packrat who is a geocacher.
  20. My favorite was when I was doing "race you to the Top" I stopped to rest....but my GSP showed me as ascending at 50'/minute...that waas neat!! I really liked the fact that I was some 500 feet higher than the mountain Robert There is nothing like a Packrat who is a geocacher.

  24. Herbie Appears to be in the LEAD....however on looking at a Map I would say that Oscar's Express is Tied....both have 4 states to travel(best routes) 23 Bugs in OHIO, 2 in West Virginia 12 in Pa,and the remainder still in NEW YORK(including 5 that still appear to be in NORTH east New York) There is nothing like a Packrat who is a geocacher.
