  1. I think I've found the answer actually! %hint
  2. When doing a GSAK export for MM, is it possible to get the decrypted hint into the 'Notes' section of an MM waypoint's properties? Does that make sense?
  3. We've texted the show, not heard anything yet..... hope some are read out. D
  4. Is there a limit to the number of caches in a bookmark list?
  5. Hmm.... It would be handy to be able to find out if a cache had previously existed somewhere before setting a new one to avoid reams of logs saying 'oh a touch of deja vu again' etc...
  6. I thought this had been asked before but I couldn't find anything. Is it possible to search for archived caches? How many archived physical caches are there in the UK?
  7. He's doing a cracking job! Our latest series was published the morning after we submitted them: less than 12 hours!
  8. Some time ago were on our way to a cache site and came upon a crop field with no evidence whatsoever of a path despite MM showing that the path cut diagonally across it. We decided to 'play it safe' and went round the edge. Within minutes a gamekeeper appeared on a quad-bike on the other side of the hedge and told us in no uncertain terms that that footpath did NOT go round the edge and we would be disturbing nesting game birds You just can't win!
  9. I do that already and get notifications for caches I have no interest in.
  10. OK, we can have notifications of new caches etc based on a central point and we can have PQs for along a route. What would be handy would be if we could have notifications along a route (such as a mile each side of a daily commute)
  11. To create a zone you need to set co-ordinates for the original point and then click 'Generate points' to create a zone based on that point. Once this has been done, the 'edit online' button will become active and you will should be able to adjust the zone to how you really want it
  12. Thanks for that! The .lua I was trying to open has the line: cartBruetonPark.BuilderVersion="2.0.4927.3981" Any idea which builder release date that would be? Thanks
  13. Where can I get a working (older) version of the builder from?
  14. I've just downloaded and installed the current builder and I am getting the ZoneEngine.dll error I can't even build the simple cartridge using the wizard. All previous versions of the builder have worked fine on this PC (XP Pro SP2) Any ideas? Yes I did uninstall the previous version first
  15. But not for Letterbox Hybrids - which frequently resemble Multis.
  16. Sometimes! However, if the downloaded .kml file is opened in Google Earth and then saved, it works
  17. We'd planned it weeks in advance: Catch an overnight ferry to Hook of Holland but leave home early enough to allow for plenty of stops and and explore Cambridge en route. It was an total wash out! We ended up doing only a handful on the way and just one cache in Cambridge (a puzzle we were determined to do). We got absolutely drenched!. The muggles didn't seem to be put off at all by the rain either So, the rain doesn't make us stop; it just slows us down a bit.
  18. We would normally read up on a handful of caches in an area we intend visiting and then do whatever else is there when we get there. As well as having the Mio running TomTom & MemoryMap, MrsD will sometimes use a laptop (in the car) connected to the Etrex, view Memorymap on the 'big screen', read the cache pages and decide what to do next. What I DO find irritating is when people log a find and mention something negative which has already been warned about in the cache listing
  19. We thought winter would slow things down but it was great...... no nettles, no stinging or biting insects, no biting spiders, no tree cover and best of all no cows , the only downside of winter was the mud and shorter caching days.
  20. We tend to choose an area where there is a trial of six or so and then do whatever else is in the area. Caching is our main leisure activity and the car (diesel Mondeo estate) does 45-50 mpg so we're not overly concerned at the moment. Public transport would be out of the question from where we live - the cost for four of us and two dogs just doesn't bear thinking about! It's nice to get a good twenty or so on a day out the area though...
  21. Our son and daughter tag along without complaints. Son (14yo) likes the 'secrecy' of it all and enjoys the final hunt but never asks to go caching nor expresses any real interest in deciding where to go or even having his own user id. Our find count would be a lot lower if he wasn't helping the search and as such probably deserves greater recognition as part of the team. 12yo daughter can't usually be bothered to join in the search but is happy to keep look out though
  22. Thanks! Erm... , which output would I need in order to display a track in Memory Map?
