You could try GC Tour greasemonkey script Personally, I've never had much luck with it, but there's been a few updates since I last tried (Using it is probably against the rules as well) Mark

There are some caches which have been out for a while and are still waiting for an FTF Here's a few placed before 1st October and still not found, so the initial FTF interest has obviously wained GC2FTPZ GC2CWTK GC2F0C0 GC2AMZG GC24ANF GC23DPY GC2F1K6 GC2DE1E GC251KR GC1XYVM GC2DFD8 GC2FN69 GC2CRH5 GC2AFC9 GC2FVKD GC2DF5B GC2EWWD GC1P7WV GC2DJYY GC21WD7 GC29W03 GC13DY2 Go for it! What to do if cache coordinates are wrong?
Delta68 replied to jammie*dodger's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
Mrs D and I were talking about his yesterday while out caching and a cache had co-ords 70ft out (as mentioned by previous finders as well) Luckily the previous logs mentioning this were within the PQ We've found caches in the past where a log in a PQ mentions co-ords in an older log but MrsD has been able to look up the older logs on her iPhone What would be a good idea is if there was a 'sticky' log type just for alternative co-ordinates which stays at the top until the CO deletes it... My curiosity stems from this cache which was on our watchlist. I was a bit surprised to see an FTF logged yesterday as Skadhi was FTF in August 2007 - I have a PQ from 20/9/2010 with the found log still in it! I recall that Skadhi had a few other finds as well (can't remember exactly but probably just under 100) all of which have been deleted as have his trackable logs such as the one removed from this cache and placed in Royal Berkshire Travel Bug Hotel Notice the 'jump' between 06/16/2007 and 11/11/2007 on the TB's page Mark

Definitely not a sock (or VERY unlikely) Skadhi Mark

No it's not a simple as that This is someone who has been caching since 2006 Last logged on Friday, 08 October 2010 but now has no logs listed whatsoever but I have a 'Found It' log of theirs in an old PQ Mark

If someone's profile says 'Inactive Member ' what does that mean? How/why would it be inactive? Thanks Mark

How did you first hear about geocaching?
Delta68 replied to The Chaos Crew's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
In March 2007, MrsD bought an Etrex so we could record how far we were walking when out with the dogs. She mentioned this a small Yahoo group she was a member of and a member from Scotland asked if she would be using it for Geocaching. One quick Google later she'd found gc.com and registered a username A few days later we went in search of our first cache GCRTJZ armed with a printout and the Etrex. The hint said 'In the base of a large tree' but this made no sense whatsover as the gps was pointing to where we had parked. After checking a few trees I realised that the co-ords were for an information sign and we had to answer some easy questions. Yes, our first find was a Multi and we didn't have a clue what that meant. Well, actually it was number 1 in a series of three so I thought that 'Multi' meant that there were several caches related to each other in some way. We were instantly hooked! Now when we go out caching MrsD uses Oregon 300 and I use a Mio P550 with MemoryMap but the response is so bad that I use an Etrex H to back it up This is our Second Mio (bought secondhand after the first one got soaked and died) and our third Etrex although it is currently being replaced after falling from a railway bridge! Chirps have got great potential but at $23 they are far too expensive. I suspect that cachers will only have to encounter one with a flat battery and they will avoid all others If they had a new cache type icon they'd be more appealing but that's not going to happen... Mark

There was a bod local to us who only ever logged DNFs - it got tiresome only ever getting bad news!
-
Dipping it goes half way to redeem your actions! I would do this if the current holder doesn't drop it after a month or so and does not reply to emails Mark
-
Erm... It's a great cache (we did it last year) but: it's not in Warwickshire it's not accessible in November Mark
-
Yeah it's OK! I see you haven't done any WebCam caches yet Charell. I'd recommend the excellent Warwick Union Cam GCH2H3 If you need anyone to grab the photo for you give us a shout! Mark

Delete! But then I am mean anyway Mark -
We were about ten hours behind today on one cache! Far too long for some people as they had already grabbed the two coins we left Mark

Cache recommendations for Scotland, England & Wales
Delta68 replied to silvermoose's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
The drive is great fun, it's a great location but it certainly ISN'T a terrain 5!! It's a cache 'n' dash and I'd say a T3 at the most!! Mark -
I've added a few caches to our bookmark list I've listed all caches set before January 2008 and haven't been found for at least a year As far as I can see the one with the longest time since it was last found was last found in January 2007 No DNFs or any other logs since either.... Edited to add these are just UK ones Mark

Geocaching.com site update Oct 5th 2010
Delta68 replied to OpinioNate's topic in Geocaching HQ communications
Personally, I would find it more use to have 'Personal Cache Note' on the TB pages If I pick up a TB which hasn't been logged into a cache yet it I add to the watchlist so I know when it getd dropped. Personal Note would be a handy place to make a note of the tracking code and when it was picked up etc Mark -
I've always thought of finding your own caches a bit like advertising something for sale in your local newspaper and then phoning up to buy it
-
Miss Jenn published one of ours

Looks like a non-trackable thing to me I've seen this sort of thing before. Well, fish anyway Mark

There's probably a neater way but you could do something like this (untested)
-
Yeah I posted that under the pinned topic in the Getting Started with Wherigo section last night The one cartridge of ours which I tried looks really good but it had a problem with confirming if an answer was correct Looks like it will be hard to debug as each build would have to be uploaded to Wherigo.com and downloaded to the iPhone (unless there's another way of getting the cartridge onto it) Mark

No, it's not that. When walking to a zone it said, for example, 270ft and that number didn't change until it said 149ft and then 62ft etc It might just be because because it was close to buildings Mark
