The post above was posted by a spammer. Ignore its out-of-context replies.
I thought as much once I'd replied and then read some other seemingly random posts.
At least it made me clarify which page I was referring to anyway
-
It IS still a bug though!
There is code within the page which is supposed to select the 'Selected Types' radio button when specific cache types are selected... but it doesn't work (not with Firefox anyway)
This was reported a loooooong time ago but it has never been fixed

Geocaching mode allows you to download a gpx file such as a Groundspeak pocket query (aka PQ) containing geocaches onto the Oregon and access information about the cache in the field.
I think you may have misunderstood what I was suggesting.
My feature request is for an enhancement to this page: http://www.geocaching.com/my/fieldnotes.aspx
-
...If the same information was available on 'geocaches (yours)' page then this would require one click and one page load.
Simples.
To be honest, if that page was going to be modified, it would be better to show something USEFUL like the last few logs, NM flags etc
Something like this:
(I suggested this in April 2010 and most people thought it was a good idea at the time)

All our caches are PMO but I very rarely look at the audit log
It's sometimes nice to see who's been showing an interest though!

It would be really handy to have a summary of the log types at the top of the list of field notes
Like this:
I use this GreaseMonkey script which I wrote last May. I'm so used to it that I forget it's not actually part of the page...
Thanks

Nice idea. Funny how it's got so little interest in the nine days since it was posted.
To be honest, I never even used the page because it was so bad and I suspect many others feel the same
I look at it a lot now with my GM script making it usable

What about the PLATINUM members?
I learnt a long time ago not to mention the Platinum Members

It would be really cool if your found caches could show in someone else's bookmark list.
Gets my vote!
When I first read the release notes for 8th November I thought this was how it was going to be
I was a bit disappointed when I re-read it and realised finds would only show finds on our own bookmark lists

Challenge caches are something totally different than puzzle caches. They should have their own icon. This proposal got a lot of support in the former Feedback and met no resistance, but was not implemented.
Personally, I think its own icon would be preferable - listed as a puzzle cache sub type maybe (like Geoundspeak HQ) - even though it would lead to a rush of cachers setting silly challenges just to get the icon...

I'd have thought that the Charter Members would be pushing for lifetime FREE membership in recognition of their early contribution to the site.
I have no idea how many active Charter Members there still are but I'd have thought their annual subscription would be a drop in the ocean compared to the the revenue from everyone else....

To be clear, just because we enter something in our database doesn't mean that it is planned for implementation.
How true...
So subtle...
Brilliant!

We currently have a request in our database to limit access to an account's profile to only that account's friends.
I hope that will be an 'opt in' option and that most cachers won't block their profiles
The more people shut themselves away in a clique of friends, the more the 'community' aspect of the hobby will disappear.
This can already be seen at Events where cachers only talk to cachers they already know

OK, I just noticed that this is a known bug
I also noticed it was due to be fixed 9th November...

Have a look at this cache
Try and update the co-ordinates
Firstly, the 000 degrees are missing
Enter the corrected co-ords (I've used the original ones here)
Click submit and West changes to East:
Thanks

I'm hoping for a pair that are on either side of the E/W line, which would place my furthest east and furthest west within a few feet of each other.
I think you might be confusing the Prime Meridian (0 degrees) with International Date Line (180 degrees)
In fact, that's an interesting idea actually. If you wanted to log furthest east and furthest west (crossing the International Date Line) in the same day you'd have to make sure you found them in the right order

If you like Virtuals how about this one. Ideal for this time of year.
I was going to suggest that one!
We logged it at 51°11.111'N, 0°00.000'E which is a location VERY easy to access.
Edited to add: It's a long way from Grantham though!

It's because the direction and distance is an image rather than text...
-
it is your PAST, why does it matter?
That's what I thought.
The only log type which I consider to be a potential security problem is the 'Will Attend' on Events as they are telling everyone (who can be bothered to look) that you will be away from home on that day/time.
Even then, you can only find someone's Will Attend logs by reading searching through Event pages - ie. not from someone's profile...

The Events Calender page must be one of the oldest pages on the site and could do with improving. There's so many events listed on it that it is no longer of much use.
If it could be filtered by country and then have distances included on the cache list table it would be a great improvement
Something like this:
This is an actual screen-shot using a GreaseMonkey script but the cache distance data is gathered by previewing a PQ with just Events selected as a cache type. A pukka solution would be preferable
Thanks

There's a Flas Mob event on the 12th: Linky
Thanks, i saw that but we leave London earlier that day.
/M
That's not a problem, just go along early and claim it anyway.
It's pretty much commonplace for people to claim they attended Events when they turned up too late or too early...

When viewing a bookmark list you own it is now possible to see which caches in the list you have already found
My initial enthusiasm fro this was short lived!
WHY OH WHY does this only apply to lists I own??
I can remove caches from lists I own!
It would be far more useful to be able to see our finds on other people's bookmark lists especially as it's not possible to filter out finds in PQs generated from a bookmark list

I'll save you having to wait for a reply from Groundspeak...
The answer is going to be 'NO!'
A definite NO!
It's different to Wherigo because Wherigo can be played on equipment from more than one manufacturer. Chirps are a Garmin only creation
