  1. This is impossible for reviewers to police though. I've seen Multis with physical stages listed as QTA stages to avoid proximity problems and it could no doubt be used to place a starting location in an otherwise prohibited area. Mark
  2. There is very little consistency amongst the reviewers. Our local reviewer is refusing to publish a series which is virtually identical to one which allowed by Lindinus just a few months ago.
  3. It seems daft that there is no requirement on cache owners to post a note or anything on a Multi or Puzzle if they move the final location There ought to at least be an Updated Co-Ordinates marker if the final location gets moved Mark
  4. On a related note, I've also seen physical stages of a Multi listed as QtA stages in order to avoid proximity problems with existing caches Treating QtA stages the same as physical stages would be the only way to prevent such abuse for certain Mark
  5. This is EXACTLY what I do, possibly because I'm coming from a programming background. The builder/text editor combination works for me so I haven't tried any of the other options. One of my earlier cartridges had nested IF statements and the builder kept putting in an extra 'end' so the builder would throw an error when reloading the file I wrote a simple Visual Basic app to remove these stray 'end' tags each time I needed to reload the lua file into the builder. I can live with that, a lot of people wouldn't be able to... Mark
  6. Your best bet would be to ask the cache owner for help. Mark
  7. I don't care who it is but starting off by moving posts isn't going to win friends!
  8. If you archive an unpublished cache it doesn't clutter up your private profile page either but it can still be used to hold images and post test logs test GM scripts etc Mark
  9. I have, of course, figured a work-around Creating a PQ from the Ignore List produces an empty PQ but the markers still show on the map as a layer It would still be nice to have a pukka way of toggling them on and off though Mark
  10. Most of the time I don't want to see caches which are on our ignore list. However, I would like the option to see them on the map. Thanks Mark
  11. Eh? Are you saying that you expect someone to ask you why you looked at their cache? I've never heard of that happening before! All our caches are PMO and don't care who looks at the cache pages and very rarely look at the audit log because it is of very little use. It shows who has looked at the actual cache page but doesn't show who has viewed the details via a PQ or on a phone etc I usually take ours off PMO once archived... Mark
  12. I wouldn't call it a BUG, it's working as intended! Your is being interpreted as bbcode and converted to html It would be more usual to use curved brackets in that sort of situation (A+D-C)(B+C-D)(B)° (D-E)(E)(A) Mark
  13. I'm guessing that it's all types of logs are ignored except 'Found It' Webcam 'Webcam Photo Taken' doesn't show either Mark
  14. This forum is for problems or suggestions regarding the geocaching.com website itself rather than individual caches. Anyway, try contacting chrishummeltal Mark
  15. Why? Why are you so against anyone seeing that you showed an interest in their caches? Mark
  16. Did you make it clear that teh problem was the saggy surround? We had an Etrex (not H) replaced due to a saggy rubber (free of charge) but the replacement was REALLY inaccurate and is now sitting in the desk somewhere. It is no use whatsoever for caching! Mrs D bought me a new Etrex H a couple of years ago but it 'broke' after being dropped from a railway bridge onto the trackbed below This time garmin wanted £30 to replace it The replacement was accurate enough but the buttons were nigh-on impossible to press so I sent it back again and received another replacement I use it all the time when caching and the surround is starting to sag again but I think I will just put up with it for a bit longer... Mark
  17. New pet hate: Cachers who put hint details in the description or put guff in the hint which ought to be in the description Our normal technique is: Arrive at GZ and have a quick look for cache if cache isn't immediately obvious check hint still no joy check previous logs for clues all else fails read the description We DNFed some at the weekend which have half a hint in the hint and some of the hint in the description. Patience wears a bit thin after a dozen DNFs So there! Mark
  18. This is one aspect which I really like and the reason why we try and do individual logs for every cache. I might see a cache mentioned on a forum or somewhere and if it's one we've found I'll have a look at our log to jog my memory We also include a find count on every log. I'm usually amazed when looking back at an old find to see that it was a few thousand caches ago! Mark
  19. I can see why NON Premium Members would like to be able to distinguish between PMO and non PMO caches but this 'feature' is currently inconveniencing Premium Members for the benefit of non members That doesn't seem quite right somehow... Mark
  20. Problems with the site ought to be posted HERE But before doing so you should read THIS The problem you describe is listed HERE Thanks Mark
  21. This functionality already exists but it is Premium Member only Premium Members can: Filter by cache type (this is what you want) Pocket Query integration Remove cache finds and hides Mark
  22. You have to tick the boxes whenever you edit a cache page It's not just when you submit a new one for review Also when you adopt a cache you have to tick boxes saying you take responsibility for it etc Just in case there's anyone who hasn't spotted the cache which the thread originally referred to it's: Tee Time? Mark
  23. In the early days it wasn't possible to temp disable a cache and caches used to get archived virtually on a whim by reviewers even after just one DNF! I have a list caches which were archived in this manner and it would be great to find out if they are actually still there or not. So far I have looked for one... ...and it wasn't! Mark
