  1. Sorry, I found it. https://coord.info/GC19YRC Feel free to close this one.
  2. Hi all! Years ago, when I first started GC'n, there was a North Carolina challenge to log at least one cache in every county (100) in NC. Upon verification, the person had their named engraved on a plaque (if I remember corrected). I searched for this, and cannot find. Apologizes if I overlooked, but I would like some help finding again. Thanks! johnnyyork
  3. The model 22 feels better in hand while shooting Muggles...seriously I use only my GPSr with no batteries.....then I call my GF and she looks the cache up online and talks me to it over the phone
  4. North of Phoenix/Scottsdale....not too sure of name or cords...i'll ask him
  5. I waaay too lazy to paw through all his posts, but somewhere along the line, briansnat has mentioned trading out gladware for nice ammo cans. This being the technique that has allowed him to afford to place the 180+ ammo can hides he has. I'm sorry for your friend's loss. Geocaching does offer opportunities to be annoyed and disappointed as well as have fun. Good thing the fun outweighs the annoyances. Does that mean your friend takes other people's ammo cans without asking? That's stealing..or am I wrong?
  6. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...bf-52ebb1caa385 your actually wrong about the Nebraska desert..... And I am from Wyoming so call me a Cowboy And my folks have lived for 15 years in the desert 75 miles North of Las Vegas. So am familar with Deserts. Point is - chained up to big rocks - caches in South Dakota Black Hills were still taken and replaced with tupperware a few years back. Most desert plants are nowhere near that strong. I'm wrong that there are deserts in Nebraska or not?? Anyway...I was looking for a solution to the problem, but you've just given me a list of places you're from or lived in.....Cowboy
  7. It was stolen...someone just left the other container for some reason.
  8. Yeah...silly until your ammo box is stolen and replaced with a 50 cent container buddy. Chain it to a cactus or ponderosa pine. Arizona Desert is not as bare as the Sahara. Not too many deserts in Nebraska, so i'll let it slide you CornHusker
  9. On a more serious note than my moon discussion: My friend in AZ put a cache in the desert using an Ammo Box I sent to him. He was sad to inform me that someone had decided not along to trade swag...but the actual cache itself!!! Any ideas on how to prevent this...I.E. security chains or such???
  10. Just get one of your buds to give you the cords before they post..thats what I....I mean my crazy friend does.....JK As you will find...I have no FTF's.....I came close yesterday.....45mins too late.... However I was beaten by a cacher who is retired and enjoying his Golden Years...so I didn't feel too bad. I agree that midnight caching is the best bet...other than making a dummy account and posting caches yourself and finding them under your regular account like I did last wee......JK moderators....Don't take my premium membership away!!! But seriously folks, if you have FTF depression syndrome.....plz don't worry...your day will come!!! And for all those who will post negative comments about my phony suggestions: Disclaimer: Don't try any of the above methods unless Chuck Norris tells you to.
  11. Is there anywhere to get free maps without having to buy from Garmin.....what are advantages of buying Garmin maps?
  12. I'm want to protect my screen, and I was wondering if the invisi-shield product was better than a case
  13. I would love for someone to explain how to do it with an iPod. I heard that as well in a different thrread and I don't think the person who said it ever explained it Paperless Caching with an iPod - a flash-based video tutorial by Xangxa gracias. I'll have to watch when i get home since my work computer doesnt have flash. Neat...I hope it works out...I have an ipod, so If this works, I don't have to buy a PDA....and I can listen to Guns 'n' Roses while I cache!
  14. Just get a cheap Palm from eBay. You can get one VERY inexpensively. Looking for the reason why I need one??? Thanks for the follow up!!
  15. Just get a cheap Palm from eBay. You can get one VERY inexpensively. Looking for the reason why I need one???
  16. I want to stop printing out cache pages. I'm unfamilar with pocket queries, and was wondering if there is a way to download descriptions and hints to my Garmin unit....or must I have a Pocket PC??? Thanks everyone
  17. I need some ziplock bags small enough for my micros (the smaller Altoid tin). I've seen dime bags (like I know what they are) put to use. Where can you buy these other than a street corner?
  18. I have the Vista Cx, with the average feature......how do I use it?
  19. I placed a cache the other day using the best (or what i thought) of about 10 waypoints. However, when i returned, it was off by at least 100ft. I know tree cover comes into play, but what is the best way to get cords for you cache? Thanks!
  20. I was told when I bought my first GPS is that if works for you and your activities, it's good enough. I went Garmin eTrex Vista Cx and don't have a complaint because it works for me. If your iFinder works for you, your good. But if you are having problem....poor sat reception, inacurate cords...maybe you should get I new unit.
  21. Is there no "deleting" the cache, just archiving it?
