  1. You are probably selecting too many options. Select fewer options and view the results online before you have them emailed to you. Then adjust as necessary. Once it's all set, then set it to run and it will get emailed.
  2. The Google Maps feature is available to all members. This definitely sounds like a dial-up problem.
  3. http://www.geocaching.com/about/disclaimer.aspx "Cache seekers assume all risks involved in seeking a cache."
  4. I'm not sure if you can do that, but you can download the Google Earth Geocaching kml which will show you caches in all locations. http://www.geocaching.com/kml/buildnetworkkml.aspx If that link doesn't work, go to your My Account page and look on the right about two-thirds down the page.
  5. Why would you think that this is price gouging? Yes, they might be selling it at a price that is higher than is available elsewhere, but people are free to buy it elsewhere, as well. In a free market economy, people can sell their products for whatever the market will bear. It's certainly NOT against the law except in times of civil emergency like immediately after a natural disaster. No on is being FORCED to purchase a GPSr (or anything else) at Walmart or anywhere else. If people don't shop around, that's their own fault. Caveat emptor has been around since the 1500's.
  6. Would it then need to be a mystery cache instead of a traditional cache?
  7. Huh? If it was posted on this site, then it was available to all cachers not just those with kids with them. It's a far leap to say that they were only interested in their stats because they went after these caches.
  8. So, if the cache is fixed now, why would it need to be adopted?
  9. The link was on the third page. http://bytethebullet.com/geologo/leatherman_variants.htm
  10. geocoder.ca - shows coordinates for addresses in Canada / USA gpsvisualizer.com - shows coordinates for a list of addresses batchgeocode.com - shows coordinates for a list of addresses terraserver.microsoft.com - shows coordinates for addresses and map locations
  11. Go here ... http://www.geocaching.com/seek/gmnearest.aspx and type in Great Fall, MD Looks like there are mostly EarthCaches.
  12. The title of this thread is "All caches in a state, How much would you pay?" So for someone to say that the replies as to "why a user wouldn't use the feature are not really important" is really insulting. The OP asked for comments. Users posting that they wouldn't pay anything and their reasons why, certainly is important. No one has to agree with what people reply, but it's still important.
  13. Are you sure about that limit? I have one set at 200 miles and another at 300 miles. Although I agree that generally you hit the 500 cache limit before the distance limit.
  14. Living in the far southeastern corner of my state, having the whole state as a PQ wouldn't be useful to me. Being able to go x number of miles out from my home coordinates (as the current system allows) makes much more sense to me. I'm more likely to go 30 miles and be in North Carolina than to go 300 miles to the other side of Virginia.
  15. You can use POI Loader and load them as Custom POIs.
  16. Are you using the most updated version of your web browser?
  17. And if that doesn't work, make sure that you really are entering code correctly. Common errors are mistaking oh for zero, L for 1, etc.
  18. No, anyone can download the Google Earth file. Just look on your My Account page.
  19. Which version are you using? On mine, in 6.12.2, if you click the "View" menu, the last link is "View in Google Earth ..."
  20. Not exactly sure what you are asking. From the Garmin website ... http://www.garmin.com/products/nuvi/ "nüvi 350 The European version contains full European mapping right off the shelf. North American versions include pre-loaded City Navigator NT maps of the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico." Also, take loot at the Owner's Manual. On page 61, it says that you can purchase additional maps.
  21. I got my 4 yesterday morning.
  22. What happens when you zoom out on the map screen?
  23. It sounds like you "cached at your own risk" knowing in advance that it might not be allowed. You rolled the dice and lost, so chalk it up and move on the the next cache.
  24. AFAIK stands for As Far As I Know If I recall correctly, part of thumbs1's problem is only having internet access (and maybe computer) access at the library. It's going to be difficult to go paperless this way. Maybe getting a PDA with wifi might be an option. ??
