  1. I've never done it, but right at the top right on the forum page there is a button that says "Forum Options". Click that then click on "Subscribe to this Forum".
  2. I have no idea about this specific program/map, but the instructions are telling you to create a folder on your hard drive (C:) named map and the unzip the files to this folder. Then, since this appears to be a DOS program you need to "run" the command line interface. They gave 3 different ways to do that. What OS system are you running on your computer? If it's Windows XP, you would hit the Start Button, then hit Run, then type CMD into the box. Then when the window for DOS comes up, you would type in CD \MAP (notice the space between the command and the operator). Then it tells you to connect your GPSr to your COM port, and type in the last command. .
  3. Good luck, but I think that you'll have to pay if you want the maps upgraded. The upside is that you may not necessarily need the updated maps depending upon how much has changed in the areas where you are/drive/visit, etc. http://www.garmin.com/support/faqs/faq.jsp...phy〈=en "Q. I have an older version of a specific locked MapSource CD-ROM/DVD-ROM product. How can I update? A. Garmin offers free and charged updates for locked MapSource products. FREE UPDATES: If you ORIGINALLY & NEWLY unlocked a NEW locked MapSource CD-ROM/DVD-ROM product ON or AFTER the release date of an update for that same product, you are eligible to unlock on that specific update what you unlocked on the original for no charge." .
  4. Just as a test I entered the coordinates tha gof1 typed, into both Google Maps and MapSource and they gave the exact same location on the maps. . .
  5. Take a look at this. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/gmnearest.a...p;lng=-77.06973
  6. Those look like they are UTM coordinates. See if you can change the setting on your GPS. http://erg.usgs.gov/isb/pubs/factsheets/fs07701.html http://webpages.charter.net/cavelocs/ .
  7. Well, that's exactly what I do, but I wasn't sure it was an option for the OP.
  8. Ok. How about this? http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/
  9. From the PQ page on Geocaching.com, just click on the little map icon under "Preview" and you can see the query in Google Maps. .
  10. For a quick visual mapping search, you can use this. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/gmnearest.aspx It's faster than Google Earth (which I love!)
  11. It is good and admirable that you said you were sorry and that you were new to this forum. But you should realize in the future that if you respond with multiple question marks following your statement or say something in all caps that people will take that as anger and annoyance. Caps represent shouting and most people do not shout unless they are angry or annoyed. You might have been better off reply to RK by saying, "I cannot find that section. Could you point it out to me or provide a link." I think that you would have gotten much different responses if you had approached it that way. Just my $.02. .
  12. Yes, all 500 show up in EasyGPS, but as the others have posted no exclusions showed up on the link that you posted. If it's not working for you this way (with the exclusions you are trying to use), you could probably just do a straight query, then filter them with GSAK. .
  13. I ran your query and had it emailed to me just now. It shows up 500 waypoints on mine. .
  14. Roll back to any version you want. http://gpsinformation.org/perry/ .
  15. You don't have to use PayPal. Just go here and use your credit card. http://store.Groundspeak.com/ProductInfo.a...uctid=GSPANNUAL Note: This link comes directly from subscribe page. http://www.geocaching.com/subscribe/ .
  16. Yeah, the c330 isn't waterproof and I'm not sure how it would stand up to the vibration on your bike. The Zumo is awesome and will fit your needs other than the price aspect. You might want to check out the Streetpilot 27xx and 26xx series. Since they are older models, the prices have come down. The guys on Motorcycle Tourers Forum swear by them. Check out http://razorbiker.com/zumo/index.php and http://forums.delphiforums.com/MCTourer/messages There was just a long discussion about the 2610. http://forums.delphiforums.com/n/mb/messag...1&maxT=4#a1 .

  18. Here ya go ... http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx Cache Saturation The reviewers use a rule of thumb that caches placed within .10 miles (528 feet or 161 metres) of another cache may not be published on the site. This is an arbitrary distance and is just a guideline, but the ultimate goal is to reduce the number of caches hidden in a particular area and to reduce confusion that might otherwise result when one cache is found while looking for another. On the same note, don't go cache crazy and hide a cache every 600 feet just because you can. If you want to create a series of caches (sometimes called a “Power Trail”), the reviewer may require you to create a multi-cache, if the waypoints are close together. A series of caches that are generally intended to be found as a group are good candidates for submission as a single multicache. The cache saturation guideline applies to all physical stages of multicaches and mystery/puzzle caches, as well as any other stages entered as “stages of a multicache.” The guideline does NOT apply to event caches, earthcaches, grandfathered virtual and webcam caches, stages of multicaches or puzzle caches entered as “question to answer” or “reference point,” or to any “bogus” posted coordinates for a puzzle cache. Within a single multicache or mystery/puzzle cache, there is no minimum required distance between waypoints. .
