  1. Thanks! I didn't even notice there was an arrow there! It defaults to open on google maps and closed on the other, confusing.
  2. I just got premium again, and I was messing around on the maps page and tried ticking the preference for which map type to use, it switched to the non-premium map type but now I cannot find a way to switch it back to the google maps, please help!
  3. As far as Palm based devices go, they are the most abundant in hand PDAs in existence, mainly because of the cheaper cost of them over Windows and other OS devices. And though very few are still produced with the exception of the Treos, the market was flooded with them. I myself own quite a few Palm based devices, the best one of course the TX. The problem you will find with Palm devices is that most of them out there are going to be underpowered for the structure of the Wherigo player as it stands on the WM devices, however most of that is going to be because of the overhead of WM and .NET itself. The core capabilities of the Wherigo player is very capable of being done for Palm based devices, it would just be a matter of using a C++ API instead of .NET to do it. This means you have to maintain two different code bases. Or you can rewrite the app used on WM devices and not use the .NET system (Get rid of all that overhead anyway), and make it more compatible to have both code bases combined for easy porting. Ultimately WM platform was chosen by Groundspeak more then likely because of the ease of rapid development with .NET, however it is also the most limiting choice for end users as WM devices hold very little market share do to the higher expenses of the devices, ease of use issues, and compatability issues. This is something Groundspeak should of researched on before diving itnto this project to make sure they developed something that would live up to the goals of the company, as well as offer a product that worked for the majority of your customer base, and not just a small fraction of it. I support this project, but I just feel Groundspeak needs to start from scratch and work on a solution that will work for everyone. Ultimately as far as PDA's go, the largest chunk is Palm OS (Atleast Version 4 and higher), WM, and lastly Linux. Plus quite frankly Linux based PDA's are the least, but going to be one of the fastest growing once projects such as Android get out of the initial development phases. Also of neglect here are the millions of Java based phone handsets, probably the single largest piece of the handheld market byfar. But that is an entirely different ballgame.
  4. I have to say, I disagree with this name change as well. I don't know anyone that goes around touting they live in the 'mid atlantic'. Heck turn on the Weather channel, they say Northeast! And technically anything below PA, other then Delaware is considered a southern state, as the Mason Dixie line runs along PA southern border.
  5. What about a PC version of the player? for all those laptop users like myself out there that don't plan on spending a few hundred bucks just for a pocketpc when I have and always will use Palm devices, I will never use a win based PDA. Considering it would not be difficult for the development team to port the windows mobile version to a native windows version.
  6. Considering my only GPS is palm based (Bluetooth GPSr paired with Palm TX) I would love to see Palm support, not to mention the millions of people running around with treos, and other various palm devices .
  7. heh, with 5 queries I barely cover all of NE Pa, and a little bit around it

I do not block IP's, plus that proxy would show you as a different proxy, it sounds like your cache might be messed up, clear your cache and cookies, though that makes no sense for both IE and firefox

  11. Perhaps next time I go thru Philly I will find a genuine Philly cheesesteak stuffed into an urban micro! Yum!
  12. Looking at their site, they advertise 'snacks for packs' which are trail mixes for snacking on while caching, I see nothing that indicates they are trying to sell food to put in caches.
  13. The first person to pass out wins a free black magic marker face painting?

  15. Hrm, I have to go 2000 miles to the peak of a Mountain in Southern Arizona to get to GCMATT... Maybe a good trip for a 1000th find
  16. I am not a very 'social' person, but when it is focused on something I like, it is well worth it . I don't particularly feel comfortable in crowds of strangers, but, the more you talk to, the less strangers around you, and the more friends that are around you! And who feels nervious about being around friends?

OBG, Always a pleasure to break trail for a fellow woodsman. It WAS a great day and a nice trek down to the Nescopeck and back. Some day you will have to explain to me exactly what is "the most inappropiat time" to get a charley horse. By the way, I did mention the possibility of little post-shoeing discomfort. MatCat, Great to met you and kudos on your first time on the big shoes. You did well Grasshopper. Next we'll send you to Stiffler so he can show you how to jump off a cliff (with a rope that is). Thanks for all you efforts setting up the website and we all are pretty excited. I got a good feeling that the 3rd time is the charm. MtnDave I am glad I am young, I feel right as rain Jumping off of a cliff... We will see about that one, hehe. It was a great time, I look forward to the next time we can go out hiking, I have a lot of trails to cover around here! hehe. Hey, send me those pics too that you took today when you get a chance.

Ok a post up on the website, I have the host up and going, however the domain's dns settings havent kicked in yet, so I am taking up the time setting up the backend stuff for the webpage, I.E. switching it over to use MS SQL 2005 instead of access, and adding in a few features. Anyway, I don't want to get too technical, just know it will be up and about very soon . Hey, I'm interested for tommorow, though I have not nor ever used snow shoes

I should have the actual site up on the new host tonight, I am just waiting on this stupid hosting company to setup the account . They say instant activation, with up to 24 hours of wait time... go figure . Anyway, its nearing 24 hours, so I should be able to get it up tonight, and I will start working on the next steps for it, including the Slogan, and I like NEPAG - Discovering Northeastern Pennsylvania's Hidden Treasures myself . Though someone elses suggestion of rotating seasonal ones arent that bad either.
  24. My luck I will get snowed in at work
  25. Yup...they are calling for 3-5 here today, another 2-4 tonight, and another 1-2 tomorrow...Gotta love how we always seem to get a snowfall every year around St. Patty's day. Heh, they are saying anywhere from 10 to 24 inches here! Depending on who you listen to for your weather anyway Allmost all of them are saying 1-2 inches an hour though... Which it looks like its just now starting to get to that point of 1+ inch an hour...
